Everyone has the right to be wrong.
If all the Debbie Downers, Negative Nellies and worse weren’t allowed to spout their rubbish… I wouldn’t have the privilege and pleasure of calling them out!
They embarrass themselves.

Thought we looked better with one less tall up forward. Lynch and Balta are obviously locks, and having two genuine rucks gave us a nice advantage today, so how the hell do we find a spot for Jack next week??
Thought Parker helped in that dept. as he took a few good grabs up the ground at bit. Fitting Jack back in is more difficult than you would have thought last week.

Sorry RT but thats BFS.
Insinuating our former 3 X premiership captain should only hold his spot if he continues to use himself as a battering ram yet again to hold his spot.
Talk about being disrespectful.😡
So what role does he play then? He can't go back across HB like Pendlebury is doing at Collingwood and he doesn't have the speed to play as a mid sized forward putting pressure on opposition defenders.

So all that leaves is playing in the middle and if he isn't playing like he did yesterday but more like how he played R1 then I'd rather see Dow RCD Martyn Sonsie being played and have them get a dozen touches because at least then you'll be able to make an informed decision on where they're at for the future.

Why don't you become a MOD see how it goes. The AFL no umpire abuse! You like they demolish us week in week out and we cant swear at them at the game lol. This is a Forum like them or hates them that is how it goes. Unless you are actually threatening someone which will be a Police matter name's mean Jack Poo. The best way if you don't like some posts or posters is to hit the ignore button and if you really don't like something don't reply to it as you will only contribute. Man, your attacking Mods is that any different lol.
You have no problem people disrespecting our former Captain who has given so much to us since he arrived?
We all know the end is nigh for Trent and should be celebrated that way not ridiculed.
Even some comments about Dusty stepping away was jaw dropping.
I have no problem with people having differing opinions on any subject but the potting of 2 of our greats over the past week was way out of line.

Missing

Dusty (our best player)
Riewoldt (still one of the premier forwards in the comp)
Prestia (our best mid)
Vlastuin (Top intercept player)
Lambert (3 flags, highly underrated)
Grimes (Co-captain and general in defence)

6 A Graders
All triple premiership players

What a win!

The only worry we have is how to fit them back in
In his presser, Dimma said exactly this…will be hard to get players in when the team is playing so well

he said Grimes will definitely play…the others (jack and Prestia who should be available) are not guaranteed
in saying that, if fit, Prestia would be a lock to come in…Jack might need to wait it out

Great effort and great win by the boys today.
Just managed to get into the game after the bounce racing to the G after my boys first junior practice match for this season.
I know a lot of junior footy praccy matches started up today, but I was genuinely shocked to see how small the crowd was today. Was expecting at least 40K to our first home game... I hope that members hadn't thrown the baby out with the bathwater after last week and given the outs for this week... was hoping for a much more determined effort today and that's what we got.
Well done Tigs! "Proud to be..."

the small crowd felt Ike the olden days (pre 2016)
echoes round the ground

I like Cotchin very much. His sacrifice and contribution to the club can't be questioned. Short memories and shrill knee jerk reactions need to be called out. Same applies to some Giants players taking hits also.

What are the longer term fixes needed to compete with Dees and Swans? Is it a matter of gun it foreward with abandon, to compensate for the weaker mids?

How good is Broad? Apart from the jugs incident in 17, head down bum up no fuss no bs no drama. Tarrant looks the same.
I think having Flynn go solo really hurt you guys
He really battled but when he was up against two full time rucks you could tell he was spent by the end of the game and Richmond also capitalised when he was resting

Will be interesting if Preuss gets the call up next week I think it could really help you guys make the most of that awesome midfield

I look at the skills set across the team, and certain selections of the ruck division as well, and see a trench warfare mindset, rather than a creative one. Contrs Swans, who are great to watch with flare and dare. At some stage Leon got spooked by criticism for being too delicatevasca team and has massively overcompensated with a dour game style that is physically and mentally destructive. Where is the joy? That was the Dimma revolution, Giants need to find the joy also.

GWS have been in the comp long enough, they’ve played plenty of big finals and they’ve got star players everywhere. So to serve up such an insipid performance tells me plenty about that footy club.
Easy out is to blame Cameron but it’s much deeper than that. No one cares. They are soulless.
I could go on but one theory is that locked away up there they don’t get the scrutiny and therefore the heat put on them to perform. They are making plenty of money but have no passion for each other. Our supporter base and the media would go bananas if the Tiges dished up that crap.
They do this regularly and it’s bad for the game. There was no atmosphere, no booing, no scuffles…nuthin. Our heavily depleted team bought some heat to the game and had these imposters covered…early.
Fold them.

Yep those comments from Dimma were really interesting because they were clearly directed at Jack, given Martin, Grimes & Prestia are locks for R3 if available. Clarkson did it with Roughead, I think yesterday we saw our future forward line, the Lynch & Balta combo looks superb. The question is will Jack just retire rather than play VFL?

The trash they served up is what the AFL wants , AFLX bruise free

He was BOG or close to it. Round 1 the entire midfield was pretty shite, so why was Cotch the scapegoat? Just so no-one is disappointed here js what to expect from Cotch in 2022: 15-25 touches, half of them contested. A few clearances. A few tackles. The occasional goal. A handful of opponent smashings. 80% game time.

Here is what not to expect: BOG every week. Great spread from stoppages. Lots of link up through the middle or wings. Filling defensive holes in our zone.

Ok…. now you know can we please avoid the melting every time we lose about Cotchin’s role and expectations on the great man.

People saying that sort of things well they are not right in the mind so why succumb to them? I know myself that Trent is on his last legs but that has nothing to do with what he has done in the past and I don't think it's disrespectful to think that doesn't mean I don't remember what he or others have done for the club and our fans. As for Dusty well he does not owe anyone anything and whatever he does is fine by me. I wish him the best in life and a quick recovery. Like I said time doesn't stand still for anyone and for those few that make statements like you say they should have a hard look at themselves and if they cant do that well they need to get urgent medical assistance.

At the game yesterday and was impressed. The number of times we had three players in the back 6 with fewer than 10 games, yet they all stood up. There’ll be ups and downs with youngsters but they were great.

It’s the vision for the future that was most heartwarming. A spine of Gibcus, Miller, Balta and Lynch for the next four years gives you a lot to build on. Dow was impressive and Bolton still improving so the midfield is developing.

I could be accused of being a doubter for this year. Flags are really won by teams with a good spine (which we have - the Leigh Matthews theory) and three A grade midfielders in the 23-28 age bracket - when they’re at their most explosive and can dominate. It’s hard to find a team take the chokkies without these guns in the middle. We’ve got aging players with recurrent injury issues and they’ve dropped a yard of pace. Everything would have to go perfectly well at the pointy end for us to take it - and it would be brilliant. I wish that as much as we all do here - but a tinge of realism is at the back of my mind.

But watching the future yesterday gave a really different form of satisfaction I haven’t really felt since 2012-2013ish. Watching great kids have a crack and succeed is exciting and quietly reassuring.

And the poster above who said Marlion BOG - couldn’t agree more. The thing that stood out at the game was his sheer will and effort to create a contest and carnage. The hit on Himmelberg was right in front of us and it was huge. He was a wrecking ball, fearless and GWS knew it.

reckon there would be a few pseudonyms to add to your list too (Fake Frankies that support other teams)
