Soon as we get a Friday night home game, been waiting agains. Now restrictions are in place

As a result a raft of new restrictions will be introduced across Melbourne from 6pm tonight, including:
• Limiting private household gatherings to five people per day
• Limiting public gatherings to 30 people
• Masks will be required indoors for everyone aged 12 and over unless an exemption applies

Yes hoping the changes are not

Outs Crowds
In Watching from home listening to BT and JB

Fearing the worst but the greater good must be done just hoping the decision is based on facts not running scared.

Maybe the the dogs and dees can have a bye this week and we play it over the split round bye if they ban crowds.

Crowds at the footy under review by the government just announced.
Surely it would just be a reduction in crowd sizes, not entirely scrapped. Four ****ing cases ffs. If we are that mind****ed by four cases, then we may as well just move the league up to Queensland again and be done with it.

Agree surely (and please dont call me surely :) ) the most vulnerable people in society should have been vaccinated by now

On a different note, I could almost imagine Bevo to debut Jamarra this week. Potentially no crowds, much less pressure. Thoughts?

Yeah it's good timing. Never played a game at AFL level, hasn't played at all for a few weeks, doesn't really look even close to being ready, we already have three good key forwards available, bring him in against the best defence in the comp etc.

I don't think we are anywhere near the situation where most of our vulnerable people have been vaccinated. The government is claiming that 3.6 million people have had a least one dose but many vulnerable people have put off their vaccinations for a range of reasons and there is still some way to go before we achieve coverage for all people who should be vaccinated. For example, a friend of mine in Aged Care only had her 1st dose 10 days ago.
In India, 88% of deaths are in people over 45, that means that 12% are in young people which proves that anybody potentially can be a victim of the disease. Until we achieve a very high level of immunity, we are still vulnerable.

And now the whole club is in quarantine as a staff member was at Highpoint. Must return negative result before going back into club.

Yikes what’s the source for this? Keen to read.

Far from ideal but should blow over pretty quickly provided the staff member tests negative. The Highpoint exposure site list has been updated just a short while ago too.

Anyone else getting a Jenga feeling about our midfield? I understand the talk about great depth but if components keep getting taken out, collapse must follow. Hope Bev has a steady hand.
What teams have a top line midfield as good as Bont, Macrae, Libba, Baz & Hunter? There may be a few going round on par but even without Treloar & Dunks our midfield is still far and away better than most. Lose one of our big 3 and I’ll start to get a little more worried but so long as we still have Bont, Libba & Macrae lining up at the majority of centre bounces, with support from the best small-medium backs in the comp and an emerging crop of small, pressure heavy runners in the front half. I’m not too concerned tbh
