Wallis wearing a mask to hide his anger from the cameras, sneaky.

I know it’s a joke but I just think cheap pots at Wallis every time someone debuts are just a little bit nasty. The poor bloke has come back from a horror broken leg, reinvented himself as a forward only to come into a terrible run of form right after being appointed vice-captain. For someone who has always aspired to leadership he’s in a horribly hard predicament than can only be resolved by better form which he is really struggling to find. I think we could leave him alone at this point. Got enough demons to chase beyond the ones he won’t get to challenge on Friday night. I feel slightly sick for the guy.

Behaves in a professional manner in all of these clips. After being around the club all his life, he was chosen to be a leader but he has been
dropped and is helping others improve their skills in the seconds whilst vc of the firsts. Time stops for no one and if he goes at the end of the year then the Club will have seen a true bulldog leave.

In Garcia, English
Out Treloar, R Smith

Little bit worried about our back line though. Could make a good case for Young or Khamis to come in for Scott as well. Cordy is a good match up for Weideman (if he plays), Keath to McDonald. But we will only have Williams or Crozier for Jackson. Fritsch often seems to go well against us as well.

Interesting to see what Melbourne do, perhaps they might even drop Weideman and go in with just McDonald and Jackson. Seemed to be playing better with that setup earlier in the season.

Agree on the backline but that’s where English is so bloody valuable. I’d love to see him dropping back into the hole this game. He’s a star at the intercept!

Re Wallis: a couple of weeks ago he played almost the entire game in the midfield and was BOG IMO. In his last VFL game however, he was mostly back to his deep forward role and struggled to have an impact, particularly early in the game. Therein lies his dilemma; there is just too much competition in our forward line for his type and far too much competition in our midfield for him as well. I think he could still be useful as a backup in both roles, preferably as an inside midfield tagger, unfortunately, however, we don't often (ever?) use taggers. It would be a sad ending to his career with us if he has to spend the rest of the season in the twos and then leave for greener pastures, but just now that seems to be the way it's going.

If he isn't getting a game in our midfield with Dunkley (a defensive midfielder) & Treloar out, then sadly he will never come in there.

Scott out before Smith for me - Roarke has been fantastic as a role player. Mr Dependable.

I keep getting flash backs of the elimination final loss, Roarke failed badly. He's played his role well so far this season, but I think he can be a bit fumbly when the pressure goes up a bit more. Scott was building into some good form before the last game and he has a bit more going for him talent wise in my opinion. I'd rather give him a crack.
