Lippi hate is a bit wierd. I agree he could go harder at it, especially as he is a pretty big unit, and it's a shame he's not faster, but overall he is a very good user and decision maker and gets involved and it's usually good if he does. That's a positive influence overall imo

Why is saying someone doesn’t derive another crack now hate?

Lipi has been a part of 8 games this year and perhaps been good in 1 of those 8.

As you admit he is slow and “timid” so doesn’t suit the way we play this year.

His last game was far from good and he didn’t play last week due to injury so do you think if the MC are being fair he gets ANOTHER go?

Will Garcia play in the midfield? I thought he might play as a pressure forward. I haven’t seen a lot of him to be honest.

He’ll play a little of both imo.

I’m that excited to see how young Sonny goes. More than any youngster since Bont. I reckon he’ll eat up the pressure of a debut game and create a bit of buzz from it.

Yeah I agree. Lipi may not be a brute in the contest, but he has some serious skill and class. He has been in and out of the side but he is the right in this week along with English and Garcia.

Those calling for Wally in are delusional.

I love Wally, one of my favourite ever players but he is too slow for our forward line and not good enough for our midfield.
He is almost last in line on the entire list now sadly (leg speed, below par skills and not a quick decision maker).
It takes some serious balls to not get persuaded to play guys like Wally and West if they aren’t deserving, given the family and club history and the coaches personal relationship with both fathers.
Massive respect to Bevo for making the best decision for the team.
I’ve wanted Wally and West in the side at times through the first half of the year, but I can acknowledge that my judgement was probably clouded because I was such a fan of Steve and Scott.

Spot on, Wallis is not going to get a game in our midfield or the wings he simply does not have the pace nor the disposal efficiency

Are we too slow in the midfield? Will Smith get more time in there to compensate for this?

I suppose Melbourne’s midfield doesn’t have a lot of pace so perhaps it’s not a problem.
Hopefully Garcia gets some minutes in there too when Libba needs a spell. He has plenty of burst. Garcia and Smith would have the most pace of all of the mids on the ground.

Will Smith? Think I’d almost prefer Hayes. Dude has lost some freshness

Not happy about the twins being split up either. Last time that happened it lead to our only loss of the season.
Forget Scott. McNeil's the key. Played 9 games for 9 wins. Missed 1 game for 1 loss.

We'll be fine.

Yep criticism of a player is apparently deemed hate on here.

Lipinski's lack of contested ground ball competitiveness reminds me of Josh Hill. I can't think of one AFL listed mid who I'd back Lipinski to beat in a ground ball contest.

In a hot game where physical pressure will be immense I can see Lipinski struggling. A lot. Just like he will always battle in other hot games like finals IMO.

Other than that I like Paddy's ball use and don't know him personally. But by the time some are done here, this will be just another Lipinski hating comment.

English is an incredibly important in this week, more so than usual. If he didn’t play, then Lever could practically roam around as 3rd man up. Now he’s forced to play on one of Bruce, Naughton or English full time. You couldn’t leave any of them alone for too long.
Yes any of the 3 headed monster could get off the chain if allowed to run loose. Making the defenders responsible then brings McNeill and Weightman into it. A fresh English hopefully a huge plus for this game

May usually takes the deepest forward which is usually Bruce. If so, Josh will do a great team job if he sacrifices himself a bit to get May away from Naughton and English.

If Naughton can get 1 on 1s with Lever, he'll tear him a new one and English will be a handful without May in the vicinity.

hopefully the penny drops and he can continue to work on his weaknesses because his finishing skills are rare in our team.
