hopefully the penny drops and he can continue to work on his weaknesses because his finishing skills are rare in our team.

It's rare that innate competitiveness or speed changes hope it does as he is a lovely kick.

Nathan Eagleton was a great kick and learnt competitiveness but he had some zip.

Game day friends - get excited! I know it's hard to get as emotionally invested knowing what's going on in the world at the moment but I am hoping the team doesn't feel this way. Will need every ounce of gusto to get over the Demons tonight.

Lippi isn't going to pickup any extra zip but would hope he can find some more hardness at the contest. Could be a lot more damaging with his disposal if he finds more of it in tight.
Still time for him to improve hopefully he is just a slow burn

Felt like yesterday we debating who the best player in the league was, Whitten or Barassi, now it’s Bont vs Petracca. Biggest game between our clubs since the 54 Grand Final. Disappointing we can’t attend but i think this could be the first of quite a few big games between us over the next few years, tonight is all about getting early bragging rights.

Hate-Love is an unfortunate and annoying BF binary. That’s Anglo-Saxon for you.

We don’t do ambivalence well here, especially if it involves more than one syllable.

Given the uncertainty and distractions leading up to this game, and playing it in front of no crowd, I am not sure what the result will mean for either team regardless of who wins.
Happy to bank the four points!

No offence, but there is no debate.

Petracca has had a Great 18 months before that he was all talent not much application. Hats off to him putting in the hard yards and building his tank for longer stints in the middle. His still got to keep up this level of performance for a few years yet to catch up to bont who has been consist for 4+ years

Yep criticism of a player is apparently deemed hate on here.

Lipinski's lack of contested ground ball competitiveness reminds me of Josh Hill. I can't think of one AFL listed mid who I'd back Lipinski to beat in a ground ball contest.

In a hot game where physical pressure will be immense I can see Lipinski struggling. A lot. Just like he will always battle in other hot games like finals IMO.

Other than that I like Paddy's ball use and don't know him personally. But by the time some are done here, this will be just another Lipinski hating comment.

It’s simple, he is too slow and soft. Truth isn’t popular in here most often he time.

He isn’t good enough to play in this midfield decent minutes and then is too slow to play anywhere else. On a wing he would get torched for speed time and time again. His work rate and second efforts are another issue.

Kid knows how to get the footy and has very good disposal but he is a passenger in this team, hence his inability to hold a spot and let’s not forget he is ONLY playing due to injuries

Sorry but you are a Max Gawn injury away from being average again but ride the wave while it’s lasts. I don’t expect long term success out of Melbourne myself but time will tell. This is your year if it happens

And not many are debating the Bont v Petracca comparison. It’s pretty clear cut to most :)

I'm sure there's plenty of teams that would love to have the luxury of having someone like Lipinski debated if he's "good enough".

He'd be starting on ball for half the teams in the league.

No one has said he wouldn’t but not on this team and therefore he isn’t suited to anywhere else due to his speed and lack of workrate on the outside.
