Hopefully we can get Revenge on out Loss in the EF last year.

Though we will have a way better side then that game as we had Ring-Ins as we could not filled a Full VFL Side for that Game

May have to let the Big Show out of his cage for this one as long as his ankle is ok

Haven't forgotten that final, TD.

Should be noted, though, that Sandy were down to about half a dozen AFL-listed players as well, just like us. The difference was, their whole team just used it better when they had the footy and took their chances when they came in the first half. The fact that they had only 1 more scoring shot than us, yet ran out 26 point victors, is indicative of this.

So yes, we had our injuries, but so did they. They just played the better footy. Oh, and got a nice ride from the umps in spite of their thuggish, sniping antics... don't get me started.

Back to the present though, and this should be another beauty. Both teams are set to be relatively evenly poised in terms of available AFL-listed numbers, as well as their VFL senior core talent as well. Barring some inaccuracy against Casey, this could very well have been 4th vs 5th instead of 7th.

With any luck, Cox will be back into the side, probably along with whoever makes way for Grundy in the seniors. And, touch (Colling)wood, Ben Reid will pass his fitness test and play at either level. Again, a best case scenario is about 16 or 17 AFL-listers, for those who just care about seeing the AFL boys play.

Win and we're 7-3, with potentially just percentage keeping us out of the top 4.

Well done Magpie Bat on your efforts with the VFL writeup each week. The VFL side is very important to our player development and future list it can be sometimes forgotten. But its good to see the effort you go to, and also to see the support the VFL side have been getting from everyone over the past year or two

^^^

Did sandy also have players that was not on there VFL List?

McCartin and Gooddard be intresting to watch for Sandy

No. But neither did we. We just had some some Development League players promoted for some VFL list injuries.

Could actually be argued that a couple of those players are better off for it. McKeown and Blair, for example, played in that final as Development List promo-tees...

Thank you PepperFace. Very nice of you to say so. But it's nothing, really.

And yes, it is good that supporters have started coming back to the VFL (or have discovered it for the first time). Helps that we're winning. :)

Yeah that VFL Pies twitter account (now on Facebook too;):D) has been a great addition also.

Magpiebat is famous too, VFL officials have been hunting the Bat down all season without luck.:drunk:

Because he's the hero Vic Park deserves, but not the one it needs right now.

Yep. So good that it has made it into my broadcast details OP every week. Impressive feat. Not many earn that honour... :D

The rooftops and gargoyles are a good place to start...:drunk:

:D

I'm more DCAU and Arkham than Nolan myself, though. Makes it easier for people to understand just what it is that I'm actually saying, for a start...:drunk:

Meanwhile, down at Victoria Park...

HB Wallin Seedsman Young
C Manteit Greenwood Karnezis
HF Goodyear Abbott Gault
F Kennedy Cox Cody*
R Grundy Gray Dwyer

Cox back, while Abbott has been named at this stage.

Borthwick returns, this time inside the potential first 22, while Cody makes his first appearance this year as 23rd man.

Ben Reid, however, passed away at three quarter time last week, after not copping a knock to his massively not corked calf...:drunk:

The McCartin v Marsh duel alone will be worth the effort of getting down to Vic Park to see this one.

Let's smash them.
