Bergman started on Heeney and probably had no confidence in his shoulder. it was heavily strapped and popped out after the first qtr. Then I think he moved to defence with Rozee into the middle.
It would be Hinkleys MO to break Bergman before trade period devaluing his trade value.

I say it all the time. We drink our own bathwater. Coming into this week, losing Wines, Aliir, and pretty much losing JHF (Who shouldn't have played), plus with them gaining such massive ins we knew we were going to be up against it, so to come out like it'll just happen and be easy is just friggin ludicrous.

Plus Hinkley did his going back to the well thing he always does. He makes a call, it works (or just survives) one week, and then he goes and does it again. He's never been smart enough to separate a 1 week fluke from a sustainable option. TWO RUCKS SHOULD NEVER, EVER BE PLAYED with the lumbering spuds we have. Just such disgusting arrogance, from an extremely poor decision maker.
I agree but we’re also paying the price of not having a high quality ruckman on our list. We think by playing two average rucks, we’ll somehow compensate against a dominant opponent. Doesnt work that way. You end up badly beaten in two positions on the ground.

Lord’s lack of progression - when other young KPFs are taking opportunities with both hands (e.g., Neale, Morris, Voss) - has hurt us.

Ken made sure to blame that on the umpires in the presser.

I'm all for calling out the umpires when we get robbed. But if you turn up like that keep your trap shut. It's embarrassing.
That is very interesting that he did that. I don't recall he has ever done that before

That he has not done that before suggests that he is aware of the issue, put heat on the umps and they will put more pressure on you ( unless you are a kissed on the dick Victorian team, in which case you'll get preferential treatment next week),

What he's now doing is transferring that pressure onto Josh Carr now that he has checked out.

Was Drew warning Heeney he would cough on him or something?

Also, Burgoyne seems to be getting a pass here. If it wasn’t his 50th, it would be a game to forget. I think his first 3 or 4 touches were some of the worst defensive disposals I’ve seen.
Burgoyne has become a first quarter Clanger-kick specialist. Reckon he turned it over 3 times in the first quarter in each of the last two matches with most being from set play situations in our back half.

I've seen his 50 games. there were maybe half a dozen memorable moments. collectively. and I'm being generous here.

He's not alone in getting game time based on his surname. Still, I'd rather him out there than Burton, Jones or Finlayson, Richards. Maybe he'll grow a 2nd lung and improve like Bergman has

While half a million bucks (give or take) worth of Soldo graces the SANFL.

2017 vibes.

Can we just find a ruckman who can take a pack mark. Frustrating to see Grundy take pack marks around the ground while I could hardly remember any our 2 rucks took
We are poor in the air and on the ground ball. Kenny is an elite conman.

I think Ryan Burton has decreased as a footballer each year he’s been at our club.

The number of times he’s stripped of the ball or unable to get his arms free when tackled is really poor.

Think many Port supporters simply overrated his talents.

Guess Clarkson was onto something after all this time.

This contested ball differential is becoming a huge problem.
True . For starters there’s Farrell , Richards , Mead , Moraes , even Liddy than can be brushed aside by bigger bodies , Moraes has an excuse but also looks the best equipped to agave weapons to compensate . Burton is sketchy one on one , Georgiades can rely too much on mark/kick play and be poor at contested ground ball so that’s probably too many

Excellent by foot, occasionally good in the air, a complete physical non-entity in every other facet of the game. And an especially dead duck with the ball on the ground.

Can’t be on the list next year.
