Unless you are talking about Jake Pavlich and the Roosters are playing the Eagles in the SANFL – Ian Perrie better not go anywhere near Pavlich on Saturday

That to, would be good to see North get beaten so Sturt can take 2nd spot back.

What became obvious on the weekend is we cant afford to have Massie as our 3rd tall in defence, especially against Freo who like to rest Sandilands up forward against us. This would require the inclusion of 2 bigs this weekend, and the movement of both Bock and McGregor down back. The two ins would need to come from Perrie, Gill, or Griffen.

It depends on the conditions & the opposition though.

We were playing the Saints inside at the TD against 3 tall forwards. Playing Massie on one was never going to work.

This week we are again likely to have slippery/windy conditions against Freo, who don't have 3 giant forwards like the Saints. Massie is not a poor matchup for Tarrant IMO (unlike St Nick, which was crazy stuff).

Would expect Perrie to come back into the side this week. This would also realise one of McGregor or Bock to go back, which IMO should be Bock, leaving McGregor at FF and Perrie at CHF. If Rutten doesn't come up though maybe McGregor is the best suit for Pavlich, though I'm really not sure who we can play on him. Stevens on Tarrant.

This will be a massive game for the Crows and one we definately need to win. Never know what type of Crows team will come to play but hopefully this week they are a switched on unit and play in similar fashion to the way we destroyed Hawthorn.

BTW Triggy all but guaranteed that Perrie would be included this week. He said that he’s polishing his boots as we speak.

In The Advertiser today it said that Porplyzia is still another week out. If Ricciuto doesn't come up, is Mattner the right guy to replace him? They play different roles so perhaps Gill or Campbell would be a chance.

Unless we have an uncharacteristically great run with injuries and form over the next 2 months, we have 7 games and possibly 2 finals with which to shape our side for next year while still trying to win games (a balance must be struck). Conservativism has held the balance of power for too long!

Blokes i would love to see tried in the next 2 months are Gill, Meesen, Campbell (in both 'run-with' and small forward roles), Pfeiffer (the 'other' HBF), and a talented wingman i spotted playing for Sturt last week, a bloke by the name of Mattner (similar appearance to our back pocket but heaps better). If Griffin can also squeeze in another game or two then that's a bonus.

This week:

- McGregor becomes the 3rd tall backman if Freo go with additional height up forward that we cannot cover, or he provides a change up forward if that isn't working.

Out: Rutten, Ricciuto, Doughty
In: Gill, Perrie, Mattner

B: Johncock, Bock, Torney
HB: Massie, Stevens, McLeod
C: Mattner, Goodwin, Reilly
HF: Knights, Perrie, Burton
F: Gill, Welsh, Edwards
1R: Hudson, van Berlo, Thompson
I: Maric, McGregor, Shirley, Douglas

E: Meesen, Campbell, Pfeiffer

ALL players put on notice...get your heads right and turn up to play EVERY week or those deserving players waiting in the wings come in.

One last thing...I hope like hell that Craigy does not screw up Massie's game like Mattner's. I am a huge wrap for Massie and believe he is in our best 22. Let's hope he is not dropped in 2-3 weeks after the coaching panel have totally screwed him over.

It wouldn't surprise if Perrie and Gill both played given we were a big man doown last week and have probably lost Rutten.

I want to see Bryce Campbell play. GUN GUN GUN ****ING GUN!!!!

Dude...I just cannot see Doughty getting dropped.

I know and it's a joke.

Doughty is not a terrible AFL player, though his disposal often puts teammates under pressure...(those so called 'clanger' stats do not tell the story...what's the official definition anyway? I bet it doesn't include handballing to player under immediate pressure who has to handball back, thus giving Doughty 2 possessions for poor football). At best he is servicable, not irreplacable. Guess what, you dont have to be hopeless or getting <10 possessions to get dropped, there just has to be a better option (all things, including the future development of the team, considered).

Re Campbell, i would love to see him given a shot as a 'run-with' player and/or spend time up forward. It's only a hunch but i reckon if he was given a shot in either of those positions we wouldn't miss Shirley/Bode all that much...but i guess we will never know. Next cab off the rank IMO. Would love him in this week but wouldn't be fair to drop Douglas after one game despite his poor performance.

That’s fan- ****ing - tastic

$10 on a Dockers win this week.

Hey, hey, hey.

According to Foxsports news the Wiz has not travelled with the Fremantle team due to an altercation outside the Burswood Casino last night. Very handy if true - he's a nightmare match up when on song.

Adelaide will be without captain Mark Ricciuto and full back Ben Rutten for Saturday’s home clash with Fremantle.

Ricciuto (ankle) and Rutten (calf and knee) have both worked hard this week to overcome injuries from last Friday night’s game against St Kilda but were unable to do enough to prove they would be ready to take on the Dockers.

Their unavailability has allowed Ian Perrie to return to the forward line, while Martin Mattner also has been recalled after missing the past two games. Perrie has not played for the Crows since he fractured his shoulder bone in round ten.

Adelaide trains at AAMI Stadium on Friday from 10am.

B: Graham Johncock, Scott Stevens, Kris Massie

HB: Andrew McLeod, Nathan Bock, Jason Torney

C: Nathan van Berlo, Simon Goodwin, Chris Knights

HF: Brett Burton, Ian Perrie, Brent Reilly

F: Scott Welsh, Ken McGregor, Richard Douglas

R: Ben Hudson, Tyson Edwards, Scott Thompson

I/C: Michael Doughty, Robert Shirley, Ivan Maric, Martin Mattner

Emerg: Nick Gill, Luke Jericho, Bryce Campbell

In: Perrie, Mattner

Out: Ricciuto (ankle), Rutten (calf/knee)

Good to see Marty back, hope he plays on the wing

Typical stupid, conservative selection.

Another big cross for Neil Craig.

for what its worth - how much does our spine improve with kenny at FF and Bock at CHB, if only we had Hentschel at CHF and Rutten FB:o

edit: with pez as a floating HFF

I have been saying that all year!

Bock is better value to our side at CHB. My concern is that he is not 100% & wouldn't surprise me if he & Kenny swap.

Imagine if we could get Pav? Rutten, Bock, Thompson, Pavlich, McGregor is a pretty scary goal to goal line.

It would be even more scary if Hentschel can return to the level of play before he injured his knee

That would be a scary proposition no doubt and with some really good young propsects coming up in our midfield and ruck, we would be a trong team for years.

If Trent can return to the same level and we got Pav
