3 weeks out ... Wehr in.

The GIANTS have made a forced change for their clash with the Crows in Adelaide on Saturday, with star midfielder Tom Green ruled out with a hamstring injury.

The tough inside midfielder was sent for scans late on Thursday evening after feeling tightness in his hamstring at main training, with those scans revealing a low-grade strain. Green, who is averaging 31.1 disposals a game in a career-best year, is expected to be sidelined for three weeks.
Nothing we can do about it.

It's an opportunity for some else to step up.

With a bit of luck Green will be back for the derby.

The 22-year-old’s withdrawal opens the door for promising wingman and local South Australian Jacob Wehr, who returns to the side to face the Crows following impressive form in the VFL. Conor Stone has also been added to the emergencies list
That’s a blow for our chances not just in this game, but our games coming up where Tom will be absent. Jacob is good, but he certainly is no Tom Green. The market also has responded with us now blowing out to $3.30 for the Adelaide match.

If we somehow manage to beat Adelaide, this will be our equal second winning streak in our entire history. Beat Gold Coast after that in our next game which is at our Manuka home ground (which if we beat Adelaide in Adelaide is certainly doable), and we will equal the most consecutive wins in our entire history. Of course, we need to win this weekend to creat (Giant) history!

Gosh, that's a huge loss for a crucial part of the run home.
This is why it would have been good to keep Taranto. Hopefully Cal Ward can really step up this game, but I would prefer to have Green in.
We are probably only missing him from our best 12 or so players, so this team is still strong and about as good as you are going to get in terms of injuries.
