Well that sounds promising , still like to know how it’s going to work crowd wise

Clubs will find a way financially even if there is limited crowd. But we’re on the right track for half a season imo

All the negativity on this page about footy not starting back. What do you all have to say after the government announcements today. Looking more and more likely there will be footy back soon.
I say: I will applaud those clubs that will be able to get through this crisis financially. But I will also say you need to thoroughly read what the government has released. Social distancing will still be required & a required maximum number of crowd attendees still could be zero. Has anyone else had the thought cross their mind that the use of change rooms will still be prohibited for game day & functions?

Looking more and more likely of a July 22nd return? Are all teams back training? Hopefully the government come to the party on the 22nd of June and allow 500 and bar and canteen. Looking like vafa and outer East also looking at this date. All the naysayers still confident of no season going ahead. Hartman seems strong in wanting to get a season away.

Hmm Maybe Hartman sees this as an opportunity to get an influx of new players into the league (if afl vic do accept some transfers)

Any truth Moorabbin has pulled out for this year?

It’s not up to Hartman tho, and of course he wants the season to start he needs the fees from the clubs.

Joint League Statement - Player Payments

After continuing consultation with Clubs and working to produce the best chance for senior football to be played in 2020, the Boards, Management and Clubs of the Southern Football Netball League, Western Region Football League and Essendon District Football League have agreed to play the 2020 season, should it proceed, with a $0 Salary Cap across all competitions.

All three Leagues have worked in a consultative manner to enable this to occur in the best interests of our Clubs and the sustainability of the Leagues and Clubs involved.

Hopefully this helps those Clubs who are hurting financially to get a team on the park in 2020

have all southern clubs agreed to play?
Heard Moorabbin has pulled the pin for this year but quite a lot of clubs want to play as if they don’t won’t back next year.
But not just in SFNL but clubs in all competitions will bend the rules due to the corona virus to play I just prey for the poor volunteers that get treated like 💩 every week as some footballers aren’t to bright and some are just up themselves to know better.

Most are on board, but some have opted to pull the pin. I think there are enough Clubs willing to play that we will have games across all the Divisions

Reckon the league will just use smaller divisions if a few have pulled out? If One club pulls out Of div4 or 3, that leaves 7..

Word is the SFNL is going ahead with the season as planned...July 25th for Round 1. Waiting for an official statement from them this week I think, but sounds like a season is happening, which is what most clubs wanted.
