I think people are underrating how well we played the first half to be honest. We fumbled a shit load and wasted opportunity after opportunity, which was nerves because of how much the game meant. Once we settled a little in the third we got on top. Robbie West's cool head helped of course.

Edit to clarify: Obviously it wasn't good in many ways, but the effort was there is what I mean.

Agreed, had the game plan in the first half, but skills let Port down. Didn’t help that every time Adelaide went forward they kicked goals.

If you do a few simple things right, repeatedly, then even when luck seems to have turned momentum against you and the opposition get three quick kick-mark-goals straight out of the centre, you can still “earn” the “chance” to ride one final 50/50 contest to a last-chance at a win, yet that still needs one final thing to be done right. Are there enough things that just have to go right lined up yet??

We spend a lot of energy for “statistical dominance” via handball, and tonight, for the narrowest of wins. Love to know if we’re running harder than others because of that aspect - or is it an unintended consequence? - of the game plan. Maybe that’s where some of the questionable finishing comes from. I don’t know.

Well done particularly to Rocky, Jonas, Paddy, Robbie, Sam and Jake.

And to Mots for finishing it off, without which all that massive effort... I don’t want to think about it, but hell, that IS the coaches’ jobs. Anyway.

Why the hell can't we start games like we started the 3rd qrt?

Jake Neade is the best tackler in the comp bar none.
Hinkley needs to destroy Wingard during the review for his kick at the end off one step into the corridor to a 2 on 1 situation.
Rocky showed us tonight why we recruited him.

I don't know what started it but I am pretty sure SPP was at the bottom of it.
