Game Day Showdown - yay?

Honestly think this will be even uglier than the Essendon game. Couple in the fact Port have infinitely more to play for then us and the events of the last 48 hours, we are not getting anywhere near them.

Aliir might go close to the Intercept marking record tonight too.

I reckon they might take the biggest margin record off us. That's about all we've got going these days with bragging rights.
Maybe. Not so sure as Nicks is working the defence over every other area - though the midfield might leak like an 80 year old with prostate issues

I'll be watching out of a mixture of morbid curiosity and a keen desire to see if Laird can break any altitude records with his forward entries
I reckon there is a but more in it for Crows fans

1. Can Schoenberg keep his form against a top 4 team
2. Butts, Murray et Al stay strong against what is likely a flood of I50
3. Can Fog stamp his authority on a game
4. Can Cook debut like Pedlar (that sort of debut gets you a few goals as a forward)
5. Can ROB dominate the ruck effectively
6. What is TT going to produce after 2 weeks working on his craft?
7. How many Brownlow votes for Ned McHenry. My tip for the Showdown media
8. How will we enter forward 50 without giving Port defence record intercept Marks
9. Alternatively will Tom Doedee get more intercept marks than Alir Alir?
10. We have 0 indigenous players playing for us tonight, in a comp that has 10% of its players as indigenous, is that strange ?

Nope. Just says gate opens at 6.10

No doubt we can enter any gate as well.

I always enter through the East gate to get to my Western Stand seat. Do the same to leave.

An email they just sent out said to enter through the gate designated on your ticket today

Doesnt phase me, I enter through that gate either way - And the ticket I have is right next to my normal seat (Row B 37-38 vs C 43-44 - Same bay)

Though, If I want to go to the optus thingy in the western stand id pissed if they zoned it off and stopped me getting there.

Given that Port need to improve their percentage to get higher up the ladder i think they will be motivated to kick the shit out of us.

There is no excuse to being flat. Zero nil Nada
Port fans say this is our grand final
And looking at the example they set, that means we should be losing by 20 goals.

Though, sometimes I question whether #portlogic actually makes sense.

Missing a home Showdown for the 1st time in many years. Didn't compete for a ticket. Apart from being sick of sitting in the cold watching our stooges get their collective arse handed to them; the idea of travelling by train for close to 2 hours + a full game wearing a mask was a turnoff.
Good luck to the boys tonight. Hope they are competitive. Like all AFC supporters these days I live in hope.

We're a crap side so Charlie Dixon will be licking his lips.
No, reckon Butts will have his measure.

But their forward line looks more dangerous.

Their backline tends to struggle with tall forwards, so Thilthorpe & Himmelberg could present a danger, but probably won't get enough supply.

Looking forward to Cook debut & younger guys, but can't see this one being close. Hope I'm wrong & we take up the fight for 4 quarters, not just a half.

I know everyone is just mentally preparing themselves for a loss, so they can say I told you so.

But I don't get why it needs to be a big loss. It seems really excessive pessimism.
GWS showed its 22 V 22 grown fit men and so anything possible - But we are talking about the Crows.

This is a contest I am looking forward to seeing.

Butts v Dixon

And TT v Jonas or McKenzie

Reckon we could win both

You reckon? As a supporter base we are and we aren’t as involved as the players.
I can absolutely see them being flat.

Then we are in for another 10 years of pain, because we've replaced a team full of mentally weak players with another team of mentally weak players.

They have no excuse.

Why do you think they'll beat us by 15 goals?
What is it about their team that you think makes them that good?
And no excuses about us being that bad.
I would like to think we will stay with them for three quarters and maybe go down by around 35 points.
I just don't see our forwards kicking much I know they aren't really that good but against us they'll look a million bucks. I hope you are right and we keep up with them for a good three quarters but not sure we will.

I think this as well.

The flipside being the players are 100% behind the actions taken by the club, ie backing a whistle-blower for abhorrent behaviour and come out motivated seeing this.
