Can Steele Develop into a player like K Cornes?

Yeah and i heard from collingwood Morrison was a good prospect, and Williams a likely sort, and that richie cole could of been number 1 draft pick and etc

Im sure he will be good very good but i have no idea if he can or ever has tagged before, and im almost certain right now he is 10kg to light to be anything mor ethen a nuisance fly as a tagger

Most Likely it is to early to try it with steele in the AFL, but It would be intresting if they try it in the VFL because we do need a Tagger who can stop the opposition Mids

I would much prefer they continue to use Toovey and Cook more so toovey as he seems more suited to it and harder then cook.

Then try and turn a number 11 draft pick with good skills into a hard nosed tagger, he could do somewhat of a run with role maybe but i see that as a waste of skills

Tagger is reserved for duds or players that can't make the mark. Like Toovey or Cook.

Dave they are all primarily midfielders that can take a man.

Obree is on ethat does that for us, and burns was another.

If we make Sidebottom a tagger as you suggested we sell the kid short

Taggers can Attack as well as Defend - K Cornes is probably the best at that

Dave, not at all. I purely saying that Sidey & Beamer were picked up for a midfield role.

We all hope for them to be better than that.

You don't pick up taggers, you invent them out of lesser players.

Wait until he plays at VFL/AFL level. Players can and often do become completey different players to what you see of them in highlights or what is reported about them (even from those who see them play a lot).

i would prefer to let him play and not tag. The difference between Steele and Kane is Steele is meant to be elite on both sides of the body and Kane isnt. I would like to see someone which posses these qualities getting the ball and drilling it down the fwds throats instead of chasing some pr1ck through the back half of the ground.
A player that is a goal kicker and elite by foot should not be tagging.
Cornes is not a goal kicker and not elite by foot but a great endurance runner and can get touches going the other way.
Kirk is not a good kick of the ball but can run and is courageous and he is also not a goal kicker.
Ling works hard but to his credit can kick goals when he gets near the sticks but is not a elite kick.

i would like to see Steele play a few NAB games and see how good he is on both sides of the body and from all reports he is fantastic so lets see how it goes

His naturally football smart so I don't think there is a need for him to play a tagging role to learn the ropes. The most acclaimed taggers are the ones who do damge the other way and more often then not like in the case of Sewell this year, the player becomes to valuable as an offensive player to be wasted as a tagger and is only used in that role out of need.

Nah, Rusty's an exceptional reader of the play, and is a bit on the slow side from a standing start.

Taggers are generally more the athletic project player, who need to learn where to run and therefore following an opponent is advantageous. Also, they need to be quick on the burst to keep level with their opponent.

If Rusty doesn't make it as a mid, he'll make a quality half-forward. Tagging is not his thing.
