Dude that's so harsh. St Kilda was founded in 1873.

And how many premierships have they won?

Arrghh, we all know the answer. One.

You might want to give the Suns a few more years lol.

But recent history shows us that no sport survives up there. Union, Basketball, A League all died.. Gold Coast Titans are on the verge of being shut down. The Gold Coast Suns could literally be the last professional sporting club standing up there.

St Kilda was at least in a city/town that had football supporters, and they would have had good support since inception. Although a smaller club throughout the years, they were still in a place where people were interested in football, even though they didn't win anything.

Gold Coast is just a place I can't see taking off at all. The people that are there are tourists and old people. And this article from 2015 is quite interesting. Basically states that people don't like sports there because of all the other things there are to do.. again coming back to the fact that people go there for environment and entertainment, not to watch sports.

the city is a soulless shthole, in the middle of nowhere, and all their players are either biding their time to get back to an actual team or they're in it for the money. There is no supporter base because it's a tourist/retirement destination. It's a *ing joke. The amount of money the afl has sunk into what is basically a land grab against opposing codes... it should have gone to Tassie, VFL/reserves, or the suburban leagues. It's the vibe, it's mabo.

taking the two best players of the draft and holing them up in jellyfish bay for another three years before they can finally play for a real club.

and yeah the saints are terrible at winning premierships agreed, but we can put on a killer disco

Lol. I have to ask this, have you ever been there? You seem to be making statements based on things you read or have heard.

The population of the Gold Coast is already greater than the entire state of Tasmania, despite only really becoming a place in the 1950's/1960's. The AFL is thinking big picture, not 5, 10, or 20 years from now, but 50+ years from now. That's why the new teams are based in western Sydney & the gold coast. It's called growth. It makes pretty good sense business wise.

Enjoy your killer disco & one flag in 140 or so years.

That’s the crazy thing it’s not even recent history the bears failed over 30 years ago there and the genius at the afl have learned absolutely nothing from it !

omfg the fold coast should not be in the competition, pack them up and move them to tassie ASAP, it's an absolute joke. The only debate we should be having is on how to best dismantle this failed experiment of a club
nah. Let them hang aorund for the next 100 years. Just like the VFL let your team get propped up from 1897 onwards.

Dew mightn’t be a great coach but would anyone have done better with the list they have!
No but he doesn’t seem like a coach who is a big picture guy, a builder of something. Maybe a good assistant who moves the witches hats around for someone else.

who is 3rd highest rated after Mr Andersen?

There's a good handful of blokes from about 3-10 who are all similar, taking out Green who is a GWS Academy member.

Brodie Kemp was shaping as an obvious third best option before doing his ACL.

They will get a priority pick, but it won't matter.

Development of talent seems to be non existent, they have burnt through that many top 10 picks they make Melbourne's drafting record look stellar.

Off field they are a shambles, highlighted by delisting Lyon who is EXACTLY what they need and trading pick 2 for Weller....

Hate to break it to you but when you look at Stewie Dew he doesn't exactly inspire professional standards. First step in the club rebuild should be limiting big Stewie to one box of krispy's a day.

Really just feel bad for the kids getting drafted there.

Caddy, Prestia, Lynch turned out fine

Would be a joke if they got pick 1 as a priority.

Talent isnt there problem, constantly having a list of players who wanna leave is. Why do they think having mates together will make any ******* difference? Are they banging each other? If one decides to leave will both decide to leave? What a joke.

Complain all you want, we all know they will get it anyway.
Given all the handouts Melbourne have gotten from the AFL, The Dees are in no position to moan about this.

It should be at 11 shouldn’t disadvantage other s**t clubs
They need to soften all there caps for 3 years not draft pics so they can have more/better coaches and can lure some fringe players from successful clubs to help create a football club with culture, work ethic and discipline

I don’t want the priority pick but it’s disheartening seeing Caddy, Prestia and Lynch running around for Tigers when we did draft the right players but can’t hold onto them regardless of the amount of money we pay them... Suns have drafted some great players but can’t hold onto them being an unsuccessful interstate team.

Give them 5-10 state league concessions, and they can do with them whatever they want.

Either use them to draft state league players or trade them to other clubs for established fringe/depth players.

They don't need more kids.

The pool is so depleted from the mid season draft that your idea would actually make the suns worse...

Lol State League battlers won't help them.

Matt Rowell and Noah Anderson will be an excellent foundation to relaunch their club.

They need all the elite talent they can, bad luck for other clubs in the draft, most of whom have had priority picks/draft assistance over the years.
