Buddy in the leadership group, no papley or heeney

Is that the first time Bud been in the leadership group? looks like we are transitioning him to more of a onfield leader role as his career comes to a end.

Yes, first time in leadership group. It matches with his leader role in the forward line that he’s taken upon himself if I recall from coach comments and others. Turning up early in great nick, just icing on the cake, leading by example.

He is so invested in the club i hope he stays on when he retires.

I love Bud being in there. I also like a smaller leadership group.

I also really like Heeney getting dumped from it. His body language can be very inconsistent and I've not been the only one to see there are times he looks mentally not fully engaged in games. Goodes had to go through this kind of thing at roughly the same age - wanted to be a leader but was told by the players that he had things to improve upon. Let's hope Heeney uses this as motivation to improve.

Heeney doesn’t run 2 ways

far from a leader
Heeney had a bung ankle last year and instead of getting a few weeks off and getting rehab he continued to play plonked in the forward half for the most part... 2 way running with a bung ankle playing a deep high flying forward? Uhhh, no Punts. I completely disagree with your assessment here.

I'd love to see his gps tracker, I bet it would put paid to this comment fairly easily IMO.

couldn’t care less about your opinion as you have one on everything on this forum and never is the almighty wrong

Ask Touk miller about Heeneys 2 way running

As do you but I actually wasn’t having a go at you, just your post re Heeney. To say he is far from a leader when he is one of probably only three current Swans whose poor games for us you could count on one hand, is just way off. Ditto to mention his two way running like any of the others in the current leadership group specialise in that aspect.

Anyone able to crack the Daily Telegraph interview with Rowbottom today?

Hey Ticky, not sure how to link it but was able to read it. Usual cliches about how everyone came back from their breaks in top shape, how the longer pre-season will help etc.

Apparently Horse did use the rd 21 loss to Port to challenge the younger Swans to step up and start their 2020 pre-seasons the very next week, and the article would have us believe that they did so with our two decent wins to end the season. I'm not as convinced as the margin against St Kilda was probably not reflective of how much of a struggle that game was for us, while Melbourne were just woeful, but I like the messaging from Horse nonetheless.

Thanks Caesar!

A bung ankle ? Heeney always has some ailment so whatever it is he can't run both ways.
