Next year, you'd get Syd/GWS. No Byes, no travel in the last week for finals.

Crows & Port whinged if memory serves. I understand their point of view, as the Showdowns/Derbies are the most physical games they play outside of finals, and at the the time both teams were in contention, unlike now.

Still the not traveling bit would make a lot of sense to me.

Yes, bit surprised Roof isn't there. I guess that means he couldn't get fit for finals in time, end of season.
