That is ridiculous but considering we have played quite a few guys in the dev league I can't see us changing tact.
a lot of the sandy vfl players left to join local since they knew they couldn't get a decent pay/games

VFL never gives decent pay though. Powelly probably pays more to the top players than VFL does to most of theirs

Yep. Know a guy at Darley in the Ballarat league who got asked to come down by Geelong, their offer was half what he is currently on.
Ours aren't that big. But VFL pays **** all

A lot of guys use the vfl program to get fitter then demand more money from locals
It's exposure. Locals will offer you more money if you come from a higher league

Hopefully Melbourne don't go down the Saints approach and force their VFL club to only play AFL Players and be interesting what they do with the current coaches and staff.

The best approach seems to be to pick a winning side at Casey.

A winning culture from the ground up is what we need now.

Misword it
Casey are hoping Melbourne play AFL Reg Season games at Casey fields
I.e like dogs playing in ballarat
We'd have to get out of Darwin first

That'd be pretty cool and great for the community in Casey, but won't happen with the current NT deal. Hopefully we become strong enough to ditch the NT deal when it is done at the end of 2018 we can look into playing at Casey. I'd certainly much rather we play two games in Casey a year and develop our following there over playing in the NT, just the NT give us a shit load of money to do so.

Yeah wouldn't mind watching us play Freo/Gc at Casey fields go down and smash some tinnies like the old days
It's a nice ground. I really enjoy visiting, though it is pretty small. I wouldn't mind hosting the odd visitor there though and it would be great to get away from half-strength beer.

Watchung country footy with the cars Parked around the boundary having a few beers and yelling at the boundary umpire is a better experience than the G
I'm all for more suburban footy

Better than Etihad for sure, but nothing beats the weight of history behind a day at the G for me. Amazing to sit there and think about all the sportsmen who have graced that patch of grass. Everyone from Bradman to Ablett.

Not to mention the 56 Olympics
