So when do we think our delistings will be released? Seems most clubs are announcing then within a day or two off their season ending.

We better not give our future first unless it's for a Josh Kelly type of A grader. Future 2nd for Brown seems about right to me..
Don't we have a 2nd this year?

I reckon there could be a few clubs after him though so it will take something decent.

Brown is a good player but we honestly look like we’re about 3-4 years off contending even with a better tall forward. Will he still be performing at his best then? Maybe

Futures could come into it again I suppose.

You couldn't do that to our board again. There are a bunch of posters who would explode having death ride 2.0.

Hit the draft and free agency, don't give up picks for anyone who can't be a good player in 4 years time.

Opportunities like this don't always come knocking though.

I think we are not that far off it tbh

Keep Weid on the 2nd defender and learn a thing or two from a genuine KPF.

Yes, I did consider that too.

If we had a top 10 pick I’d be open to trading it this year.

I quite like the idea of us having an early second rounder (Hathorns) for Jason Taylor to pluck one in a year where no one has seen the kids play though.

I won’t be surprised to see a few club try and move picks on to 2021 draft. Was listening to a draft podcast last week and none of the guys seemed overly confident in identifying a lot the top end talent. This particular episode focused on vic metro but seems lack of footy will impact significantly.

Ben Brown has to be on the radar.

We spoke to Nth briefly last year, they were shopping Wood, Garner and one other tall but cannot remember which one.

Apparently Brown and Shaw clash a little as people. Not agro, more so brown is a bit alternative and Shaw doesn’t get it.

**** getting Ben Brown, we go out and get a young ruck/forward type in Jackson and then kill his development by getting Ben Brown?
Plus Weid played like shit with an immobile tall forward coming out of the square in McDonald, why would we pay extra cash for Brown?

If we got Brown, He'd kick 40 odd goals for us and everyone else would kick significantly less. He's a tall lead up forward, he has no presence in packs. **** that noise.

Anyone who wants Brown is advocating trading Weid. They can't play together.
You are guessing at that.

Weid is a lot better off with a 2nd defender for another couple of years.

He wasn't that effective with TMac but Brown is a seasoned forward used to working with other forwards.

He isn't a bash and crash but he's a bit better than just a lead up forward. He can use his height when necessary. Also a decent shot for goal.

Trade wise we have the means, pay check is the issue.

Just let Weid and Jackson go to work - if you're going to throw money and draft picks anywhere it has to through the middle of the ground and half forward, unless they're willing to release Salem, Rivers and Harmes to play there instead in which case go for general defender types. We have the structural players at either end to make things work long term, it's the skills deficit in between that's going to continue to kill us.

Brown is a dominant goal square player, he literally can't do anything else but anchor himself to the square or go into the ruck.
So instead of the confident bash and crash Weid we get the timid forward pocket Weid who doesn't know when to fly or not. We have to put more time into him not ruin him with Brown.
Jackson would be in the reserves if we got Brown

Either way he kills the development of Weid or Jackson then.

Can't play a forward line of Weid, Jackson and Brown. That's way too tall slow and immobile.
