whats happened to D Mitchell of the Utah Jazz????? Seems to be s**t these days

He's always been a chucker, when youre a rookie though people see 20 points and don't look at how many shots it took to get there.

From the games I have seen of him this year, he takes some really dumb shots. Maybe he drank his own bathwater a bit?

Well there's two parts to this.

First is that his shooting has been poor this season, but last season his efficiency was fine, especially for a rookie.

LeBron as a rookie: 20.9 ppg on a TS% of .488 and a usage rate of 28.2%

Carmelo as a rookie: 21.0 ppg on a TS% of .509 and a usage rate of 28.5%

D-Wade as a rookie: 16.2ppg on a TS% of .530 and a usage rate of 25.0%

Durant as a rookie: 20.3ppg on a TS% of .519 and a usage rate of 28.1%

Donovan Mitchell: 20.5ppg on a TS% of of .541 and a usage rate of 29.1%

So there's that.

Secondly, he is asked to shoulder a large offensive burden because the Jazz do not boast many shot creators - he has carte blanche to shoot, because they desperately need him to.

So yeah, he has been shooting poorly, and yeah he puts up some dubious shots. But the revisionism that he's nothing but a glorified chucker is poorly argued. It also seems to come from a lot of fans in Australia, which doesn't take a genius to figure out why.

Put him in the hall of fame.

You just know after the Nurk stat line, next game he’ll do absolutely nothing coz that’s just what he does.
