I decided to merge these threads and make one draft and trade talk thread. It's a bit early to have a heap of trade/draft threads floating around unless they really warrant a stand alone thread. So if you want talk trades or draft prospects feel free to discuss here.

Here is a Intresting KPF who could be intresting to check out as we could draft a KPF in the 2010 National Draft

Joseph Groenewegen (Launceston)
October 25, 1991 198cm, 85kg
Joseph struggled with injury last year. He had constant battles with his groins. Joseph is a ruckman/key position player. He has very strong hands, is good below his knees and agile for his size.

Boak Knights & Dangerfield

All Vic boys and there are rumours that they might be coming home at years end

Now would Collingwood have a crack at either of these guys all 3 would be handy pick ups

Re: Boak Knights & Dangerfield

We've been into Boak since late last year. Prepared to offer him a contract of $400 K / Year for 3 years. Bye bye Josh.

Hope thats true because i love the look of Boak

Re: Boak Knights & Dangerfield

Port definitely need a ruck, but so do we.

If we traded either of Wood or Fraser, even imagining that Port would be interested in these players as a starting point in negotiations, we would be robbing ourselves. And no, I'm not saying our rucks are better than Boak, but certainly more important - just ask Hawthorn.

Re: Boak Knights & Dangerfield

lets buy all the rucks, just so other teams cant have them...

rich kid syndrome...

Re: Boak Knights & Dangerfield

If Josh or Wood aren't happy at year's end i can see one of them traded to either port or adelaide for either Boak or Dangerfield.

Depends on what happens and the outcome of where we end up at year's end.

Re: Boak Knights & Dangerfield

I'd rather we concentrate on signing Didak, Cloke Sidebottom and anyone else who is out of contract before we even consider making any offers to other teams.

I don't think we will trade this year, even with the way the draft is, let Hine work some of his magic after not having much of a shot at the draft last year.

Re: Boak Knights & Dangerfield

You'd think Hawthorn would go balls out for Boak, I don't care who we pick up come season's end, as long as we've got the players that matter contracted.

Re: Boak Knights & Dangerfield

Carlton can never get their fill of mids and could well be in the mix for Boak. Should really try and nab some KP players, but they can't help themselves.

Carlton have a good spread of rucks and could certainly offload a Hampson, Jacobs, Warnock + pick for Boak. Boak was a Carlton fan growing up as well.

We just don't have in abundance what's required to satisfy Port, i.e. rucks.

I like knights, but has had a fair injury run and we are spoilt for small forward / midfield options.

Pav would have been my only sought after player at season's end, but don't think he'll be going anywhere given Freo's 2010 form.

Re: Boak Knights & Dangerfield

Yes all three of these players would fit in nicely at Collingwood but what would you be prepared to give up?

Adelaide and Port would not want to lose a young gun and not get a young gun in return.

Players like Pendlebury, Thomas, Beams, Wellingham, Sidebottom etc

Sure if we could offer up Josh Fraser and a pick and they took it that would be great..... NOT GOING TO HAPPEN THOUGH

Re: Boak Knights & Dangerfield

It's going to be very hard for any team to trade this year.

Only a few teams will possess top 10 picks...and they are going to be like gold so won't be traded.

GC look unlikely to give up many of their top 10 picks either.

Don't see how any side is going to score Boak, Dangerfield or Knights...who all would demand a top 10 pick. They may be on the GC radar however.

Agree I think we are more in Need of KPF then a Mid

3 Way Trade with GC Trading one of there top 10 Picks?

Re: Boak Knights & Dangerfield

The value of Top 10 Picks this year won't be that great. GC have already taken the option on topend 17 year olds that would have become available in this year's draft. Add the number of picks taken by GC in the Top 10 & their value is decreased.

GC will be looking for seasoned players in all positions. It bodes well for us that we have a strong list right now.

Re: Boak Knights & Dangerfield

Would be very interested in all three.

However, it is very unlikely, if not impossible, that deals can be done for the lot.

If I had to choose, I would pick Knights/Dangerfield ahead of Boak- not because I think they are superior talents (in fact I think they are all on a par) but because one or both of the Adelaide duo would fit our needs a little better for mine as we could use a few more dangerous HFF types.

Imagine having Didak/Davis/Thomas/Knights or Dangerfield rotating through HFF/midfield.

Didak, Davis, Thomas, Sidebum, Beams, Lockyer, Medhurst, Dick not enough?

I think we could do with another KP player.
