A team comprised of three countries (no Northern Ireland player made the squad) couldn't beat the Matildas. Still have questions over Guatavsson's tactics, as I don't think Carpenter at centre half is the right play, and I think he was too slow to bring on the subs but you can't argue with results. Sweden will be a tough opponent. Cruised through the group stage and are, on paper, more talented than the Matildas, but football isn't played on paper. What time is kick off on Sunday?
Carpenter is a gun but yeh, don't trust her in central defence. LB/RB or WB or like a L/R mid even is fine, but not central.

Catley and Carpenter as CBs in a back three is a massive gamble imo

Better than letting Sweden overrun the slowpoke Kennedy and Polkinghorne in defence. I can see why Gustavsson is trialling Carpenter in the centre of defence because a lot of the top class nations have quick forwards. If we get through, I do think one of Polkinghorne or Kennedy would start because Sinclair isn't the quickest of strikers but is really strong on the ball.
