PIEMAN RESULTS Rd 14 v GEELONG

It was the defining win that wasn't. We can take a bit of pride out of that and also the comfort that we probably have Geelong covered at any other venue. But not much else and definitely not the four points so let's distract ourselves with a bit of Piemanship.

Pieman Player of the Week

PPotW is Anthony Scott who twice had the game on his boot in the last quarter - once with a poster and once with a kick from the wing in that fateful last minute. He was scarcely sighted in the first half but his two goals were both the sort of opportunist goals we've been looking for.



Pieman Player of the Year

Josh Bruce has moved further in front and now leads by 81 points. Libba is now in second after Naughton failed to score a goal for the first time all season.



The KELVIN

For the three-headed monster only Bruce had a bite, so that hurt a lot of teams. No huge scores this week but a handful managed to score over 100 points. The Kelvin winner was Vinegar Mess (124) narrowly from Wocka (122) who just pipped his arch-rival Charlie Bucket (117).

STC and CB were two of 18 carryover teams this week. No Pieman substitutes were required.



The PIEMAN

It's very close at the top of the leaderboard with SayerTheCreator holding a 4 point lead over Wocka and Boyd oh Boyd not far off in third. Vinegar Mess has moved up into 5th with a desolate dogwatch slipping to 6th.

Just a warning: there is a higher than normal chance that I will tweak some of these handicaps when teams are announced depending on whether Naughton is selected. And even then it could be feint from MC!

It probably won't matter much anyway as most of you select your Pieman teams after MC has announced the final 22.
