Been alot of talk about him so I thought I make a Thread for it all.

He seemed to come from elsewhere then Austarlia, Not Sure where.

His interviewing is terrible and it goes no where and don't get much Information out of it.

Another thing I find is how late some Articles are and Come out Different Time.
Like today they had Open Training and We have no Report or Photo's as we have this pre-season is not out yet. With Hulett you could almost know when an Article is out.

The Only Upside with Jonathon is that he is young and SHOULD Improve.

I dont think the lateness of the articles is his fault at all, and i think he is Canadian Dave

i wont lie and say he is a great interviewer, but absolutely terrible is hrash. He just isnt a natural in front of the camera and doesnt have an in depth knowledge of our game so asking good questions would be difficult.

I think despite his upside, he is more an athlete than a football reporter and he should be delisted by season's end. Until then, I'd like to see him spend 22 games reporting on the VFL.

Once you get over the slightly out of place American/Canadian accent I think he does a good job.
I doubt very much that he is getting paid a hell of a lot of money.

CTV does not have a huge audience in the scheme of things nor any advertising revenue, it's just a club service to supporters.

he was on the one on the afls website and he was also on the good youtube one. i wouldnt have a clue one what squawk episode it was on but it came up during magpies mail when this lady wrote in saying that his accent was just as sexys as martin clarkes.

It would be a very hard job if you weren't an on-camera natural, or if you didn't have a thourough knowledge and understanding of the game.

I'd be satisfied if the media dept just answered their e-mails.

Bring back Shane Wakelin as the new Media Manager. Suave, confident, great hair and not shy of a word or two.

JB suffers mostly by comparison...

Smithers (aka Hulett) was just so affable, easy-going and natural that he put everyone at ease and got the best out of a bunch of footy players that would rather eat lentils than be in front of a camera or microphone. He's also blessed with a rich vocal talent that works well on the radio show.

But JB is obviously feeling awkward and just hasn't found his feet. Don't even get me started about the 'Dancing with Licca' spots he did with his scripted 'gags' - worse than ACA. Plain as day he just doesn't seem to get along with the players that well - he'd do well to spend a little more time one-on-one with the guys out of hours and build some rapport. Stop going for the obvious questions and make the most of his USA roots - he could play a little 'dumb' and get the interviewees to fill the gaps for him... "why do you play so close...", "who do you partner in the preseason...", etc.. - questions that offer a lot of scope for answers.

I'd say be orf with him too, but there's no-one to replace him.

So the next best option is to send feedback to him - being the media manager he'll most likely be reading a lot of email personally, so be kind

If they are paying 120K+ per annum I'll do it.
But I don't want any flack from you lot if a few players and I are involved in some alcohol fueled frivolity and mayhem
