Autopsy Three things you learnt against the Crows

1. The Adelaide hoodoo which plagued us for so long under Paul Roos is now a distant memory. We have now won the last three against the Crows including four out of the last five in Adelaide.

2. Buddy is looking more comfortable with his new teammates every week.

3. A bit of panic from the back six on the few occasions the Crows were able to move the ball quickly, and their forward line was hardly threatening apart from Pods. A sign that the Ted/Reg combination isn't as rock solid as it used to be? Or do Rampe and Laidler give away too much height?

1. Rampe is still not playing his best position. if we cant fit him on the wing or in the center he should be dropped for a genuine defender. Biggs comes to mind.

2. ROK & Shaw are holding the team back. they need to be dropped ASAP!

3. Maybe we can get our season back on track. but we must win next week!!!

1) When we were hit we actually hit back this time and run out the whole game which for the first time this year was a pleasing sign.

2) The delivery and lowering of the eyes was much better than previous 2 weeks but still needs a little work.

3) Our defence today was probably to enthusiastic they regularly bashed and crashed into teammates in a effort to spoil, now that can be a good and a bad thing good thing it shows the desperation was there but if you all go for the one spoil then there is going to be loose players on the ground.

2. Our balance between inside and outside work was better today, and it made a massive difference in clearances.

1 : Our midfield was better inside and out , our skills across the park still have to get better to match the best

3 : Backline is getting rattled at times and will need to improve big time for when we are up against the best. Mals kicking is shocking atm and Shaw and ROK are no doubt declining.

1. Derrickx looks pretty OK. I suspect he's holding the spot until Naismith and/or Nankers are strong enough, but he's not the worst option in the mean time.
2. Buddy is becoming comfortable. I can't wait to see him playing that role with Tippett in the goalsquare.
3. I'm not 100% convinced that Cunningham is in our best 22, but I'm getting close.

I can see the problems with okeefe but i think he teamed ok with buddy today for a start and offers something there.

To me shaw has been good though, not outstanding but has done his job

To me shaw has been good though, not outstanding but has done his job

some of what Shaw did today was ok but i think he has lost alot of the composure he had from 2 years ago. im sure this is due to his ACL injury, but as i stated in another thread, i want our best team on the field every week. i dont think he is in it ATM.

Ill have to rewatch i though gws he was the best and felt he did his job today, but is there a particular moment that you have in mind?

Shaw was a little off today and did have to look to have lost all composure at times

1. Forward setup was ideal for Buddy. LRT and Derickx might not of got many stats but they had the impact of drawing men away from the area Buddy wanted to play into.
2. McGlynn on Dangerfield was an interesting matchup in the first half but I think McGlynn won that battle.

Agree and disagree. Couple of shockers, but also showed some brilliant vision. That's what we have him for, sometimes it won't pay off but other times (e.g. that kick to McGlynn who took it lying down, passed to McVeigh who then passed to X who then goaled) is what we have him in the team for.

He will cost us games. Worst disposal efficiency in the team (42%!) and when he doesn't have it, he's spoiling teammates. Only a matter of time until the board turns on him. Chambers II.

1. Today was the best setup of our forward line in a long long time. Perfect role for buddy today. Wreaked havoc in the 50 and drags players out with him when he ventures up the ground this creating a lot of space in forward line.see mcveigh and Laidler goals.

2.opposition genuinely fear buddy, talia and jaench( I think) both trying to cover him when kizza marked was hilarious , and really highlighted the panic opposition will have covering he and Tippett.
