Very different levels of quality but I would like to see Watson forced into an on ball role to see how he goes. He’s hard enough and has good evasiveness and run, which we lack in the middle at times.

Watson on a wing would be amazing imo. Just needs that endurance base. Defensive winger with licence to counter attack.

Why is it necessary for us and it doesn't seem to be necessary for the reigning premiers with Pickett and Stack?

Richmonds supporter base are a bunch of boguns who either dress up in Tiger onzies, tiger face paint or are covered in tats. They dont care if one of their players is a bad egg who hangs out with bikie gangs etc etc.

The Eagles supporter and sponsor base are a totally different demographic.

We won't be able to replace Willie per se, as his skill set is freaky and unique.

Hoping Cameron may fill some of the void that Willies self inflicted holiday, will create.

Sokol IMO is more like Jamie Cripps than Willie.

It may release Cripps to have more time in the midfield rotations.

One thing I will say about Sokol is that he is a very accurate kick at goal, more like Le Cras type accuracy.

If somehow Petro is traded to land Kelly and Willie is out for a year then a Sokol may be a decent depth forward close to ready to go.

Hows his defensive efforts?

Absolutely.
Our midfield needs a top up and Kelly is the immediate get. This is why I'd give up 2 first rounders as he releases pressure off gaff to play his natural game and yeo Shuey get a chop out.
We need to add some new dimensions to our midfield.
Rioli was going to be used more there until he fooked up.
I just don't think banking on a once in 80 years fairy tale is what our club needs to look for.

I have no problems trading a couple of late first rounders to get Kelly.
I never said we should bank on stuff like a once in an 80 year fairy tale, but the fact remains that he's someone we should really have taken a flyer on once we didn't manage to trade for Kelly. Even taking Kelly as an example, we were reportedly talking to him a year or two before he was actually drafted, why not take a punt on someone like that in the rookie draft the moment we identify them instead of hanging on to list cloggers on the off chance we might lose 3 or 4 of our rucks to injury. I mean we had McInnes and Brooksby on the rookie list this year, surely one of them would really have been enough.

Needs some work,but its "doable".
Hell we managed to transform Ryan.

Jokes aside he is AFL ready and would offer a lot more to the team than a few we currently have on the list.
Wouldn't be a high priority but as always ... lets see how the draft pans out and who is left to add late.

Haha! Yes indeed, it will be non stop ‘Sliding Doors’ and as we all know, Lloyd is an astute judge (Clarke better than Naitanui). After this week, it will be 4am I think (when Daylight Savings starts)!

I was thinking a combination of Kelly and Cameron added to our team would go a way to plugging the Willie and Masten shaped hole we will have in 2020. I expect Allen and Duggan to also be in the best 22, not sure who misses out.

Pickett in particular is annoying given we are in our premiership window right now.

However I can accept the tim kelly miss. I think taking brander at 13 and allen at 18 was too good to pass up. And the talk was we had kelly lined up for our next pick, we were unlucky that the cats went earlier than expected. 2017 was probably the first year kelly stamped himself as an automatic afl draft selection

Said it before... but it was best for Stack as well as WCE & Freo that he went elsewhere.

I tend to agree, but if we could get him cheapish and have him focus almost exclusively on handpassing out of stoppages and winning ground balls, he could address an area of need.

I wouldn't mind if we had a player as good as Dusty Martin who hangs around bikies TBH.
You're really making us sound like the "Chardonay sipping supporters".

I seriously doubt a major sponsor would drop off if we had a player act up.
And even if they did, it's not hard for WC to attract new ones.

I bet the average supporter would rather see us take a punt on a Stack or Pickett if it makes
our team better.

Kamdyn McIntosh was joked about a few days ago but i think he'd be a good fit.very athletic ,can play on a wing which is where i think he'd play for us.would be cheapish and would add depth and toughness to our midfield/backline

Don't pretend Gaff's kicking playing inside was acceptable. I was seriously pissed off with it at stages, just hack kicks around the corner. He isn't an inside player.
