So are you posting a rumour that Mitchell may have done some rucking at the Nth Blues or have you actually seen it for yourself ????

I've seen number 25 go up against our ruckman during preseasons at Carlton.

to be honest i dont think collins is gonna last the cut this year or next year. Everyone says hes actually a good footballer in the mold that houlihan was, but i cant see it. He's soft and his skills arent even that great, and he usually tries to do to much with ball in hand. Numerous times in games this year when he had to put his body on the line he backed out.

i really think we needa trade warnock this year while his value is high. no point having him play in the 2's all next year then trade him for like a 2nd rounder. we could potentially get a 1st round this year for him

Collins ironically over or under kicks like Grigg, but I wouldn't call him soft.

Who would give us a first round pick for Warnock?

I hope we are actually trying something behind the scenes. I understand not being in the hunt for many players but surely we need to cull a few. The swans have changed over thirty players in the last three years to constantly improve their list and add depth. Now they are even getting Tippett. Surely we should be delisting Curnow, Joseph, Bower, Thornton, Kerr, Carter, Heyne, Lodge, Bray, Rowe (I know some are gone) and try and trade one or two of Warnock, Hampson, Duigan, Garlett, Ellard, Davies for picks and players.

Personally I would like to see us get another handy KPP and an onballer. No matter how happy MM may be with our list we can always improve.

Not sure if serious, but if you are:
  • Before the dotted line is signed, then there's always a risk of losing a player. The two go hand in hand. Look at Grigg, for example, thought we had him before signed. Also, if you were settling some legal matter, would you spend any settlement money before the papers were signed? Of course not, because anything could happen.
I am not sure if you are serious, but neither your nom de plume nor the content of your post gives any confidence. If my assumption be wrong then no doubt you are right that, before a contract is signed, there is a "risk" of losing a player. What that "risk" is very much depends on the context in which the contracting parties meet together. As far as I can tell there is no suggestion that the Club thought Bell was not a required player. What was for negotiation were the perennial questions how much and how long. Unless a given player is offered most of the salary cap for 10+ years those 2 questions must always be negotiated. Running in to sign up a 7 game player (who I rate just quietly) for any sum and any length of time is obviously stupid. The arrangement reached seems a very sensible compromise and it seems reasonably clear that Bell, having been offered a contract elsewhere, made it clear he was happy to continue at Carlton if a sensible compromise could be reached. Grigg, like Jacobs, left because they were quality players who were necessarily deprived of opportunities to play at Carlton. If you think it was all about money you couldn't be more wrong.
As for Ratts, it's pretty clear the club thinks there was a deficiency because they sacked him. Don't think there was any secret that he was sacked. It was well publicised in the media. Haredly a character assassination.
Try reading my post. It was Harks I accused of character assassination, not the Club. And since it seems the Club would have kept Ratts but for MM being available the only knock on Ratts from the Club is that he is not MM. What inference do you draw?
Not sure how Harker confused his position - he said Ratt's heart was in the right place but that doesn't mean he was a good coach. Not sure how that is confusing. Some people can be a good coach but there heart isn't in the right place. Blight at St Kilda springs to mind.
Again, try reading my original post. When you can respond to what I actually posted I will happily reply.

The big question mark for me still sits around R. Warnock. Love him as a player, but given Mick has never been one to adore ruckman in the past, I still think something could be going on. The fact is Kreuzer, Hampson, Casboult and Warnock are probably going to be competing for 2 spots. In the past Mick has gone for the 1 genuine ruckman, which we can assume will be Kreuzer, and the KF/2nd Ruckman. Leaves Robbie as the odd man out, even though he is a superior tap ruckman to MK.

Robbie has the potential to be an a-grade tap ruckman, but it's very hard to see him playing lots of game next year, unless MK goes down. Amazing depth to have for us, but the question for Mick, is would he rather have a good ruckman waiting for a chance in the 2's, or trade in another first round pick or player.

The other option, which is seemingly less preferable, is if MM see's Kreuzer spening more time forward, with Robbie as the #1 ruckman, in which case Hampson is likely to be waddling around in the 2's.

I think that with the bench the way it is now, 1 genuine ruckman ( Kreuze) plus a relieving forward either Cas or Hampson is the best way to go. A fit Warnock (rare) is for sure a good tap ruckman but not overly helpful around the ground. I think Hampson's ruck work is underrated. He is getting to that stage now where he should really come good. He has now also gained experience in the forward line. If we could pick up a young ruck in the draft I would not mind trading Warnock. Love him but for me he would be the one to go.

Neither, I read reports on games that mentioned he rucked. Hardly a rumour. Nice try.

has anyone asked other fans of other teams if they desperatly need a ruckman of rob warnock and what he is worth??

No, I clearly understood your original post.

Have you re-read your original post?

While it's expressed in very intellectual terms it doesn't make much sense. If you have misinterpreted what you wrote, then perhaps you could clearly articulate what it is that you want to say.

It is important that we get to the bottom of this. So, I clearly understood that you had three key points, and your three points were: (a) someone refusing to sign a contract should in no way be interpreteted that they are thinking of leaving the other party (b) that Harker committed a character assassination on Rattan even though he was sacked midway through his contract because the club didn't want him, (c) that if someone has their heart in the right place they will definitely be good at what they do

If you have misinterpreted your own three points, (perhaps you could've have had four, or even five points) then please rephrase your original post so I can attend to your pending post.

Hey Guys and Gals,

Just heard that Josh Toy has been diagnosed with a serious heart condition and may not play again; like most things on this thread, it could very well be an untrue, however its news that I have heard so thought I would post it.

the issue was weather it will cut his playing career down by a couple of years.. not that he wont play again

Like I have said to others, lets see your credentials first. And like the others, we will find you to be nothing more that a blowhard that likes to pretend. A lot.
There is no need for this.

We all know your thoughts on the Rumour Thread & some of those who post in it, but I think now is the time to give it a rest. At the end of the day it is not up to you to determine what can & can't be posted in here, nor should you be attacking those who post rumours in here, or those who choose to read the rumours. You are spoiling this thread for others with your protests. You clearly don't like the content of this thread, so it is best that you steer clear of the thread, as no rules are being broken by those who choose to post rumours in here.
