What happened to this Fleetwood Mac?

Peter Green did too much acid and dropped off the face of the planet for awhile & the other guitarist can't remember his name joined a religious cult.. then they became the soft utensil Stevie Nicks and whatshisname rockpop-pap s**t.

Jeremy Spencer (playing the maracas in this video) - looks like a cross between Phil Collins and Sam Gary theses days. The blond mop top fella was Danny Kirwan, who died a few months ago - lsd got the better of him too.

Bullshit Bill will be PM within 6 months.

He knifes 2 PM, Rudd changes the rules so it becomes near impossible to dump a Labor leader unless he/she lose an election and Bill is protected from a challege by Albo and who won and would continue win the vote of the members of the Party.

Oh well, just like 1901-15 when we had 8 PM's in less than 15 years we will have 7 in 12 years if you can't Rudd twice. Good chance we can match the 8 in 15 years from a century ago.
Bill Shorten is fine, he is literally just the face of whatever the Labor party choose to represent. They are controlled somewhat by unions and unions are controlled by people. There is a path to sanity and democracy with the ALP. Yes they are still horrible on a number of fronts particularly foreign policy but at least they care about working Australians.

ScoMo OTOH is a ******* fascist, loves torturing refugees and doesn’t believe climate change is a thing.

If this election goes massively in the favour of the ALP it could set Australia up for decades. Education, renewable energy, better welfare, better workers rights, better infrastructure, you name it.

We need to stop thinking of “GDP” as the most important thing and start putting the people who live on this planet first.

Shorten is full of s**t. Its always been about me, me, me. Albo at least you know would do things from the heart, not the massive ego like Shorten.

Bleeding obvious - people control all parties.

The ALP are no longer run by practical people. How many of them actually have a trade and have done something with their life outside being a union official or a lawyer? They are soundbite specialists these days. Gillard thought getting more laws thru parliament was an achievement. Typical lawyer. Labor unfortunately has lost its way and the Liberals aren't any better. Too many 24/7 soundbite pants wetters in parliament these days on all side.

Agreed REH, politics in this country is at an extremely low ebb, h t f the libs didn't learn from the Rudd, Gillard, Rudd fiasco, that voters won't have a bar of a prime minister being changed midstream, just confirms how completely out of touch they are.

In my opinion there are 3 certainties,

1. Shorten will become the next pm
2. The major unions will go for wage rises within months, or possibly only weeks of the ALP getting back into power, which will eventually result in just another wage rise / price rise merry go round that will ultimately benefit only the privileged few on both sides of the political fence.
3. Due to factions, Ms Ping Pong, who has c***** up every portfolio she has had, will get another one.

That's the problem with all Australian politics in general, the majority of the Labor Party were union officials or lawyers, the majority of the Liberal Party were lawyers, bankers or corporate board members

There's few exceptions, Richard di Natale was a GP, so was Kerryn Phelps, Peter Dutton was a cop, Cathy McGowan was a teacher, John Alexander was involved in tennis, Derryn Hinch was a broadcaster, there's not many others.

Many people are under-represented in our parliament. Asians make up 12% of the population, but there's only one Asian in parliament: Penny Wong. There's 220k nurses, that's one in 50 Australian workers, but not a single one in parliament.

I think there needs to be more scientists (not wannabes like Malcolm Roberts, actual scientists with credentials), tradespeople, engineers in our parliament too

All true, but people still vote for the same parties.
The disconnect is in education where the humanities and (understanding of this stuff and critical thinking) are under constant threat in favour of STEM and trades.

Been saying this for around 20 years. The professional political class of working as a lawyer or trade unionist for less than 5 years and then becoming a political staff is also part of that non practical politician making its way to parliament. Need both lawyers and unionists, but not a majority of them in parliament.

Whilst Im not that naive to say engineers never lie, its professionally bloody hard to survive if you continually lie and bullshit like most people who end up in parliament. When you design and/or build a road, bridge, building, dam, machine, system, chemical plant, electricity generator etc you can't get away with bullshitting that it will do X and it doesn't deliver.

Worst still is that such a big percentage of the people who end up in the public service at the top, advising the pollies, haven't done or can't do critical thinking anymore, don't give frank and fearless advice anymore, tell the pollies what they want to hear, protect their empires and because they dont have long term job security like in the past, they dont want to get sacked if they upset their minister, and you get a double up of inadequacies and incompetences.

Lucky we had 20 years of outstanding economic reforms between about 1983 and 2005. We then got lazy with mining boom and the bloody 24/7 news cycle started and short term political thinking to manage the media message went into warp speed.

We need both humanities and STEM subjects studied by kids and good teachers that engage them well in as broad a range of subjects until the last couple of years at school, when they make their choices about which directs they want to go.

Trouble is that kids aren't encouraged to do critical thinking enough of the time. Parents usually don't want to be hassled by kids wanting answers to difficult issues, teachers aren't the best and brightest these days like the profession used to attract, the media dumbs things down to the lowest common denominator, celebrity lifestyles of the easy money and constant fun are promoted as part of modern instant gratification. The grind of life isn't encouraged as an honourable thing to do as it used to be.

The old disciplines around critical thinking, use first principles etc, aren't even taught the same way or to the same standards by the professions any more it seems. It sees that waste and not doing right the first time is a good reason to make sure work keeps flow in to fix up the original stuff up.

**** apple for getting rid of the headphone jack, now everyone is doing it

what if i dont want to spend another $300 on new headphones?

Use the adapter that comes with the phone?

Went to the Jamestown Air Show today. Holy Moley those pilots are demented. There was one dude in a trick plane literally about 50 metres off the runway sideways doing s**t. And he was old. Surely he was on an acid trip. It's ridiculous the skills those pilots put forward.

I love this place. Edgie has a daughter. Dingle has daughters. I have two daughters. With grandkids. Ironic my three grand kids are tough arse boys. Is what it is. You're a gun edgie

Good work. Life.

It's funny that old cultured Labor guys think Albo isn't the same political hack Shorten is.

He has a personality. That’s enough to put him ahead of the pack.
