Venezuela on the brink of civil war?

Since 1950, GDP per person in capitalist Chile grew 350%. In socialist Venezuela? Only 23%
You'd be hard pressed to find too many flag waving Pinochet fans in Chile.

True but then they are grateful for the prosperity he brought to the country.
What Allende was planning Chile would end up like Venezuela today.

Why there is only one industry, Chavez killed the rest by making them uneconomical.

Price controls
Chavez ordered that prices of key items be slashed so that everyone could afford them. The official price now for a bag of corn flour used to make the everyday Venezuelan staple of arepas, for instance, is 190 bolivares ($19 at the official exchange rate; only a dime or two at the black market exchange rate). And while that was affordable for consumers, the price of flour and other key items is below the cost of production -- so domestic producers have stopped making it. That made imports more essential, exacerbating the lack of foreign currency.
100% this.. Price controls is the reason why you can not find anything when i lived in Venezuela you couldn't find eggs meat or cosmetics that had been priced control not much could be produced.. and if they are found the poor society buys and sells it for more on the streets for the rich people who can't be bothered lining up for hours at supermarkets..

As for the voting is entirely the poor society fault for Maduro and Chavez, if an 18 year old myself understood how stupid it was to implement expensive economic schemes when the country is so dependent off one industry surely everyone else in the country can, however that was not that case the poor society looked at what they could get at the present time and now everyone is paying the price.

Look at the last election the people voted for a majority of the opposition in the national assembly the tide has well and truly turned and next election Maduro will be gone. Socialism was a massive fail in Latin America, you can't have a democratic system made with socialist legislation it just doesn't mix well.

Look I know you're trolling, but comparing Allende to the modern socialist movements in South America is factually incorrect. Saying a foreign backed coup and installation of a murderous dictator was somehow superior to a democratically elected government on he other hand, is promoting war crimes.

Not that the facts have ever bothered you before.

You're the one who's trolling,

The fact is this is what I posted

Look, its fine to be merely ignorant and misinformed.

But you are literally defending fascist murderers at this point. That is disgusting.

Who's defending Fascist murderers? Pinochet got Allende before Allende got him.

What I'm saying is the Pinochet had the sense to listen to Milton Friedman and the "Chicago Boys".

From Wikipedia:

The Chicago Boys were a group of Chilean economists prominent around the 1970s and 80s, the majority of whom trained at the Department of Economics of the University of Chicago under Milton Friedman and Arnold Harberger, or at its affiliate in the economics department at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. Upon their return to Latin America they adopted positions in numerous South American governments as economic advisors, many of them reaching high positions.[1] They are credited with transforming Chile into Latin America's best performing economy[2] and one of the world's best business climates.
They advocated widespread deregulation, privatization, and other free market policies for closely controlled economies.

You have zero idea about economics or politics. You are defending a group of people who murdered civilians in order to overthrow a democratically elected foreign government.

I am placing you on ignore, because you're either a troll or a genuinely sick person.

So you lost the discussion so you attempt to insult me. Classy not.

In a country with one of the world's highest murder rates, and where car-jackings, muggings and kidnappings often go unpunished, the Venezuelan government has arrested or detained at least 9400 people this year for allegedly breaking laws against hoarding, reselling goods or attempting to stand in line outside normal store hours, according to the Venezuelan human rights organisation Movimiento Vinotinto. Many were taken into custody by the Venezuelan troops assigned to police the checkout aisles and the long lines snaking from supermarkets.
