Owen - Looking really solid in defence. Has reinvented himself off a HBF. Would like to see him get a game later in the year. His decision making and disposal needs some work.

S. Hunt - Solid out of defence. Surely would be close to our 22. His attack on the footy today was very good.

Grima - Was pretty good as well. Ala owen has reinvented himself in defence. His run and drive is top notch. Vomitted his guts out though after half time.

Bedford - Doesn't have the same flash as Varcoe or Djkuerra however he was pretty good off a wing today. Seems to know where it is. His disposal is pretty good to.

Hawkins - Who the hell can call this kid fat? He doesn't look it to me. He demands the footy and leads hard. Has super hands and can bust packs. Looked very classey today. Kicked 3.2 or something like that. IMHO would be more of an asset to the senior team then nathan. However he did drift up the ground a bit to much for my liking.

Davenport - Looks ok, love his pace and disposal. Is a handy addition and should be promoted.

Gamble - Didn't impress today. Just floated around got some touches. Missed a lot with injury however can see him getting into the 22 near the end of the year.

Johnson - Boy has my opinion changed of him over the space of a few weeks. Seemed really pissed off when he was taken off. Heres a convo i listened in to.

Bench dude: "Ok Jai, Your on replacing vagas on a HFF."
Johnno: "How come im not going on, tell them to put me on."
Followed by lots of stares to the bench.

Spencer - Didn't pay much attention to him. Took some solid marks. Would had rather of seen him in the game today compared to H.

West - Is improving with every game played. Hes quick and agile for a footy player. And his ruck work is looking good to.

Overall a impressive performance considering we were 10 goals down after 2 of the 6 quarters.

Anyone want anymore info feel free to ask and i will fill you in.

Cheers

Thanks Rizzo.

How did the Tommahawk kick his goals?

How many contested grabs?

What did you think of his fitness, what was he like after his first effort?

What was the go with the 6 quarters? how many did they have playing? Were they full length quarters? Were they just trying to sort out the top up players or something?

How many quarters did Tommahawk play?

Thanks so much for the review Rizzo! :thumbsu:

What happened to Grima? Is he alright?

I agree that this kiddo should be promoted. After seeing him play last week I was VERY impressed. Do you think he will be getting many/any senior games this season ?

Lol, footy craziness.

Who was the bloke who was having a massive power-spew on the boundary while on the bench. Was about 5 min into the 3rd quarter and he had 3 good solid heaves. Classic.

Shows that no amount of preseason can give you match fitness.

That was Grima, It wasn't from over working. He was feeling dizzy and had chest pains mate.

Thanks Rizzo.

They came from marks on the lead (Maybe one contested) Between All from the look of it outside 30. So he has a good leg on him.

He looks pretty fit actually. He was prepared to run up the ground and help out down back, and he made repeated leads. Boy does he demand it!

Ok it went like this. Each Quarter was 25 mins. For the first 2 qtrs the team was made up of VFL top ups + 6 - 8 St. Mary's players. They got beaten by 10 goals against The Bullants Reserves team.

There was then a 15 min break where the Mary's players left + some top ups and were replaced by AFL listed players who then played 4 X 25 min qtrs. With a 15min break in the 4th of 6 qtrs.

"Technically" we won, because we were 10 goals down after the duds played. However after all 6 qtrs we were only down by 42. So we won by 18 points.

Hope that helps

Thanks for the write rizzo, appreciated.

Good to hear Dopey is starting to find his niche. Time and confidence pending, it'll be good to see him strut his stuff back up forward.
