Warren mundine, a running joke

So, we have the largest reserves of Thorium in the world. Why in the hell aren't we at the forefront of fast-tracking the technology and building the bloody things?
We are but it going to take decades and it will be over taken by renewables that will crowd it out of the market if and when its ready.

Although there are current designs that could be established in 10 to 15 years, the most favoured design – the Liquid Fluoride Thorium Reactor (LFTR) – is estimated to have, for a significant deployment, a lead time of 40 to 70 years.

In the meantime, renewable energy – notably wind and solar technologies – are being developed and deployed at a fast rate.

Thread is about Mr Mundine and his love of Nuclear let him be upfront and explain to his electorate that he wants a plant down the road

That doesn't change the fact you posted a graphic which had nothing to do with your assertion, through disingenuous actions or complete stupidity. Pick one.

You dont the right options to pick one from
The graphic just reinforces there is genuine fear of nuclear power thats why I want Mundine to go out and try and sell his love of nuclear to his electorate.

PS
What do you think went wrong with Fukushima, did the experienced nuclear engineers underestimate future potential risks ?
Surely they would have taken into account earth quakes and tsunamis in a country that experiences them more frequently than nearly any other country on earth ?
or was it cost v risk trade off ?
Profit is king

That graphic does nothing of the sort.

Pretty desperate to parachute into a seat against what the locals want. Spectacular backfire coming.
They will try the 2 conservatives bouncing preferences against Labor.
But he will be destroyed just by a few of his pro nuclear reactor quotes in the electorate
Just need a few posters at the polling stations

Your opinion on this matter is now shot, you can't even comprehend a simple graphic, or you did but decided to falsify it to suit your agenda. You have reached the level of climate change deniers.

Whats your agenda ?

Do you want me to say the Australian public isnt frightened of Nuclear power and Mundine will get votes by declaring his love of it and how he wants a plant in his electorate?

Do you want to believe that the nuclear engineers that designed Fukushima allowed for all potential risks in a earthquake and tsunami prone country but s**t just happened ?
But it wont happen again

I don't really care what you have to say, you can't even comprehend nor understand the parameters and components of a graphic which you posted. Your opinion is worthless, it's all to see.

You quoting of my posts seem to suggest otherwise .
What are your concerns I seem to be missing what your trying to say ?

The graphic you posted, is it radiation levels spread from Fukushima or is it wave amplitude?
Why does it concern you so much that you feel a need to hijack a thread about Warrens love of Nuclear and his wish to have a Plant built in his electorate ?

Do you want a plant in your electorate too ?

According to a report published in October 2011 by the French Institute for Radiological Protection and Nuclear Safety,
This emission of radioactivity into the sea represents the most important individual emission of artificial radioactivity into the sea ever observed.
However, the Fukushima coast has some of the world's strongest currents and these transported the contaminated waters far into the Pacific Ocean, thus causing great dispersion of the radioactive elements.

In terms of hijacking the thread, I'm not the one who posted a misleading graphic. I'm not overly fond of the idea of a nuclear plant in my electorate either, how is that pertinent to false information on Fukushima's radiation effects?

Can you also answer the question on the graphic you posted regarding its display of radiation or wave amplitude?

So Mundine gets a $550,000 grant from the government for a TV show and meanwhile they cut the funding ($310K)for specialist service visiting lonely older LGBTI Victorians?

In late December, the federal government told LGBTI support service Switchboard that it would lose two-thirds of its funding under the Community Visitors Scheme (CVS). The CVS aims to reduce loneliness among those in residential or community-based aged care by funding visits from volunteers.

That's because the old farts would be less lonely if they watched Bolta on Sky News FFS!!!!

Federally ICAC now. Any politician opposing it should be assumed to have something to hide.

They don't want it to be retrospective, no surprise.

Would love to know how much more they subsidise Murdoch media.

Labor should agree to the LNP proposal of no retrospectivity, just to get it up and running ASAP...then after the election, change the parameters to retrospectivity. LNP won't have the numbers in the House or Senate to stop it + it will give them something to wedge the LNP...particularly Joyce and co over the MDB fiasco.

They dont have the numbers right now to not make it retrospective.
Just have to get one of the crossbenchers to vote for it and put the pressure on Pauline in the senate to pass it

I don’t know, but one of the issues of conventional nuclear power is waste storage. You bury in concrete for tens of thousands of years and cross your fingers.

Australia to be the repository for all of the worlds nuclear waste. Geologically stable, 1,000s of square kilometres of remote space.

Japan's nuclear power industry was pretty much in it's infancy when they started building Fukushima.

Over 50 years hence to the present day and they would have learnt nothing and if given the choice, would build it in exactly the same location to the same design.

Good grief.
