Does your melbourne based squad still have a rivarly with the sydney based one. Last time I was in Melbourne and went to a Swans game V Essendon on a Friday night (maybe 92??) the Melbourne squad refused to chant Sydney and refused to have anything to do with the Sydney based squad.

I could tell you a story about this topic. But I won't because the thread is about the Crows. And I don't want them all getting huffy about Swans supporters hijacking THEIR thread. ;)

Luckily these days not only do the travellers from both cities know each other pretty well thanks to the internet etc, we are all incredibly close personal friends who like to spend time with each other socially after matches whereever we are. Our post match pizza get-togethers (especially in Melbourne) are becoming the realm of legend. We have had up to 33 people coming for pizza after games. And even had a party at one supporter's place around the corner from the ground when we played Geelong last season. It is a great way to unwind and cheer up after losses like Saturday night.

Gone are the days of factions, with one group chanting "Go Swans!!!" and the other "Sydney!!" We sing the same club song. And chant the same stuff these days. Our club is all the more stronger as a result of this. And the support for the team has lifted 1000% too.

While we all appreciate you taking time off from completing your PhD to comment on the Sydney Football Club, you might be able to get your powerful intellect around the following points:
1 the Swans under Roos play a very accountable and physically hard at the ball style. This high intentsity football put tremendous pressure on soft outside ball recievers.
2 if this kind of game isn't to your taste there are plenty of other sports that penalise physical contests - netball, soccer and syncronised swimming, that might be your style
3.the local cappuchino city chip wrapper summed up the swans:
"the Crows were like deers stunned in front of the headlights of an oncoming truck when confronted by the Swans'tight checking and ferocious approach at the ball in the first quarter" Bit tough for you tiger?

Watching synchronised swimming>cooking shows>Swans games.

When the head of the AFL comes out and says your game stinks you know you're in trouble.

It's OK though, we all find it gruff and manly that you guys have a 'silhouette' of the opera house on your guernsey, honest we do.

Continue raping this great game of ours Sydney - boring assed f*ckers

When you go from 2-4 to 9-3 after he says it do you think we really care?

Exactly, so stop harping on about how statistically you won the game and stop calling us boring because

a) We don't care
b) You're the most boring side I've ever had the (mis)fortune of having to watch
c) We played crap and still beat you
d) The only reason our game was so boring was because we played against you, we do play some exciting football. I think you've played 1 exciting game of football in 10 years.

Meh

I wouldn't laugh if I was you - did you see your team again on the weekend.

I actually did watch the replay of the port/roos game and i will say that while i'm dissapointed in the result at least it didn't put any one to sleep watching it. ;)

I certainly didn't fall asleep. The excitement was great watching a 40 point deficit being erased so effortlessly. :)

I found the Crows game a great game. Yes the flooding can get frustrating but the attack at the ball by both clubs was great. It's games like that where you find out how the lesser known players will stand up under the pressure. Take Michael Doughty for example.

That pretty much sums up the South Australian ethos to AFL football barracking it seems, doesn't it? "You suck, we beat you, ******** off home!"

And I thought West Coast fans were bad. As uppity as they are, at least they are not verbally and physically aggressive like you lot.

No wonder Adelaide is the murder capital of Australia, LOTS OF ANGRY FERALS!

JF

yes, you do seem a certain sort of supporter.

can't imagine why you keep having problems?

I sure did, the Port magpies beat Sturt on Saturday and their was a shinning light in the debut of young Kyle Jenner, let's just hope that the Port recruiting staff were at the ground and we can pick him up in next year's draft as this kid's going to be a star.

The kangaroos simply played better footy & for far longer than us on the Sunday so 1 win out of 2 isn't too bad as the saying goes.

Yeah, try waving a ten foot high flag. And have the gaul to stand up and get the Swans supporters in the crowd to chant behind the team. It is as if doing that is personal insulting to some of the locals behind us all. A bit of ribbing is fine, as I do kinda like to gee up the locals into getting behind THEIR OWN TEAM. But when I get threats of physical violence from hoons with earrings holding up banners with Crows riding tanks on them  , it goes way way way too far.

I can't imagine how you managed to kep your underwear clean, people with earrings and banners with Crows riding tanks.

Well considering we had more tackles than you, 82-72. I think we can say that we more than matched you for toughness.

And on top of that we beat Sydney playing their own game. Sydeny closed it up and we managed to burst the game open, even if it was only for a few minutes. We then closed Sydney down.

Don't get me wrong I have a lot of respect for Sydney, but like all year, opposition supporters have had a lot of trouble having any respect for the Crows after we've beaten them. Knock us all you want, but we still beat you on the weekend and earlier in the year at the SCG.

Take the loss on the chin and get on with it. ;)

I was replying to a claim that sydney were "sodomizing football"!!! There's nothing to get over. I respect the way Adelaide play, and in particular Neil Craig. Its some of your supporter base or is it base supporters that deserve no respect because of the asinine comments they blow out of their arses. Look forward to a replay in the finals.

Now we know you are struggling. Relying on Andy. Mediocre footballer and even worse as an administrator. Gee if Andy says it must be true. Since he put his foot in his mouth we have come into finals contention.Your point about the opera house logo is the real clincher though. "Gruff and manly" - do people really talk like that in cappuchino city? Devastating stuff.
