They come to play one week and put on a shit performance the next. What's going on over there? Do you reckon the Brogan incident has distracted them? Thoughts please

Maybe because they're unbelievably and inexplicably overrated?
I was at the Port/Essendon game last week and was very unimpressed with Port. Essendon were rubbish and whenever they threatened they would gift Port a goal. Everyone was saying Port are back, they’re a tough side now, they’re so skillful. Wrong. They’re a team full of soft, unaccountable overrated players who like nothing better than to boost their stats.
I tipped West Coast today and couldn’t believe why they were such underdogs. Port are as average as they come and as I keep saying will be lucky to make the 8.

What are your thoughts on Sydney?

West Coast certainly certainly came to play, but Port was ordinary, too many out of form players, but the main concern is probably the lack of a young, strongly built key forward.
Brogan incident didn't help because we did miss him out there but there were other players to blame. Shaun Burgoyne, Chad Cornes, Peter Burgoyne the usual that go missing when we have a bad game. I'm not to worried because it round 2 an we should really belt Melbourne next week an regain abit of form back if we are to finish in the 8 next year but a poor performance today, we could really never get into it an hesitated all the time. A reality check was needed for our boys so it cant hurt.

Cheers Drummond we need more people like you dribbling that sort of stuff. To many people have been kissing our asses lately.
I just think you've got issues that run pretty deep. Kane Cornes for example. Sure he wins a ridiculous amount of the ball, good for him and his DT, but what impact does he actually have on a game? He racks up at least half of his stats in the defensive fifty, and at least half of those are directly from kickouts when he stands in he back pocket waiting for a cheap kick. He gets so many 1-2's, and I think 5 Shannon Hurn disposals are more damagaing than 25 of Kane's.I thought the player's intensity was still there but the skills were pretty poor. So in terms of toughness when we don't have the ball we are better than last year. However, we jump at shadows when we do have the ball and our skills go off. Other than that the majority of players are unaccountable (and playing a zone gives them even more of an "excuse" for being accountable) and possibly overrated. Does anyone really rate any of our players? Other than port supporters and the idiots at the Advertiser?

Pearce is talented and started out well today but he seems to go missing when the going gets tough. Shaun Burgoyne, went through that purple patch in 2007 but hasn't done much since. Doesn't work hard enough. I've been saying it since the day he entered the comp, he could be an amazing small/medium forward, I think you should keep him there. Tredrea has been a champion but he can't seem to kick many goals these days, although he was robbed of one when the umpire didn't pay a mark that CLEARLY was.
Peter Burgoyne could be phased out for a guy like Lower or Thomas. Surjan was good a few years back but IMO doesn’t do a thing to justify staying in the side, ditto with Pettigrew. Carlile is quality, your best youngster. Boak is struggling and would be a much better player if he used his pace and agility. Probably doesn’t realise how talented he is yet. Gray is another who is high on talent and yet his best form was in his debut season, how does that work? Injures might have taken their toll.
Rodan is getting progressively worse and it won’t be long before he’s at Norwood, at least he should be anyway. When he gets it he is damaging unlike others but quite simple he doesn’t win enough of the ball. Cassisi is an uninspiring captain choice IMO and Salopek should’ve been given the nod, but I guess the players know best.
You need to get some youth in the team with real drive, real passion and confidence. Mitch Farmer might be playing reserves but I’d give him a game next week. You could do with Meyer’s class but he’s still on the rookie list. Salter, Lower and Farmer should come in next week, and the next week Thomas, Logan and Hartlett if others continue to regress.
