The MCG sucks now because in the last 2 years, i have been ejected from the last state of origin game (for bagging Matthew Lloyd) and have been warned from the Pigs in Blue (Cops) for swearing. You can't say jack shit or get pissed at the G anymore. nah the outer at Shell Stadium is ****ing good mate, standing there with all the other yobbos, hanging shit and spitting on oppostion supporters, nothing beats that. Kardinia Park will ALWAYS BE THE HOME OF FOOTBALL
IF you don't like KP then go and get ****ed.

lol

Ugh, who mentioned Waverley??? Damn cold ugly place it was. Don't miss it at all, lol

Waverley would have been a great stadium if they'd ever finished it. But it was a nightmare for public transport users.

The S.C.G. used to be a great stadium for cricket in the olden days when the Hill was still there.

The Adelaide Oval is pretty. I think they've got a bit more seating there now, but when I lived in Adelaide it was a very uncomfortable venue for cricket unless you brought your own fold-away chair and sat under the trees at the Northern End.

Football Park is like a mini-Waverley, but the public transport is a lot better.

Never been to the W.A.N.K.E.R. or Subi or the Gabba (and don't want to).

Kardinia Park is a good sheep paddock ruined.

Victoria Park has got too many advertising signs.

Princes Park is just a very depressing place to go.

Colonoscopy Stadium represents everything I hate about modern football, but the view is pretty good from most parts of the ground. Too many "exclusive" areas, which are often empty.

The M.C.G. is probably my favourite stadium ... but there are a lot of things about it that I don't like.

There are actually probably more "exclusive" areas at the M.C.G. than there are at Colonoscopy. There's the M.C.C. Members, the A.F.L. Members, the corporate boxes.

The Great Southern Stand is an impressive structure ... but unfortunately, I think it was probably the building of that stand that marked the point at which the M.C.G. ceased to be the "People's Ground". Since then, the corporates have taken over ... and the areas set aside for the hard core footy fan have been shrinking ever since.

If they rebuild the Northern Stand for the Commonwealth Games it will be a disaster for the rank-and-file footy fan. In fact it will probably be the end, because the new Northern Stand will almost certainly be a corporatised area.

I never went to the M.C.G. until after the Great Southern Stand was built, so I don't know what it was like with the old Southern Stand. But I get the impression that it much more egalitarian in those days (except for the M.C.C. Members).

I've never been to Stadium Australia. But one thing that really alarms me about it is that they're going to make it smaller now that the Olympics are over. Why the hell are they going to do that? In its present form it could probably make a great venue for the A.F.L. Grand Final, but if they cut it back to 70,000 seats, or whatever, it just won't be big enough.

Which raises the question of where the 2005 Grand Final will be played. The M.C.G. will be out of action because they'll be rebuilding the Northern Stand. Surely they're not going to play it at Colonoscopy. So that only leaves Stadium Australia. They'll need the present capacity, surely!!!

I always quite liked :

Kardinia before they did up the outer.

Victoria Park's 'if you don't barrack for the pies then have this scummy area' spot.

Princes Park before they did up the outer.

MCG before they did up the Southern Stand. On security, we were once threatened with ejection for two things, standing on seats (!) and being too noisy (!!!!).

SCG for its accoustics. Crowd noise is amplified by the shape of the rooves.

Moorabin beacause of the adrenalin rush that accompanied the threat of quick death.

MCG - Just great.

Footy Park - Aluminium bench seats, & old "saucer" design means you are further away from the action than you would like but home is home & it's improving every year.

Adelaide Oval - CRAP overrated. Only thing going for it is it's location.

Waverly - Been there once & it was a big Footy park with wooden seats & crap lighting. Still we won so that was the main thing.

Western Oval - Been there once & it was ok. An old suburban ground & what you saw was what you got.

I'd argue that AFL members are as hard-core as any of the yobs in the outer. Maybe a trifle better behaved though.

The MCG would have to be close to the best stadium in the world. It is just as good for football as it is for cricket.

Colonial Stadium: Best stadium for the spectator. (It will only get better this year, and I'd expect it won't be suffering from any second year blues).

SCG: Great cricket stadium.

Bruce Stadium: Great for rugby league but nothing else.

Adelaide Oval: Greatest surface for playing cricket in the world.

Footy Park: Who cares?

the MCG would be the best by miles.
colonial WOULD be good if there werent so many f*ckin stupid rules. why cant we sit on level 1?? it is bullshit and costs too much to see the game properly, but i still think i would prefer to be in there then at the G if it was pissing down.
