I travelled out to Robert Bruce reserve again today. Keenly fought contest in the first half. Cobras looked a bit slicker but delivery into the forward line was horrible. But their 3rd quarter was sensational and showed that they are the real deal. Best tackling I’ve seen by a side in years. I noticed a few Whyndam Suns shirts in the crowd. Could be a good match in a couple of weeks time.

Suns will be no match for the slippery cobras.

There is some conjecture that Karim deserves an extra point for picking the 1 point margin in the Lavo game, but naaahhh, stiff bickies.

Good work though.
I would have thought tipping a team that hasn’t won in 2 years and then getting the margin right surely deserves at least 2 extra points 😂

Braybrook def Lavo (Butters & Busuttil to kick plenty in the wet and both to overtake Cachia for the goal kicking)

Suns def Heights (2 goals, 7 points)

Cobras def Tarneit

Braybrook to beat lavo 76pointd
Heights to beat the suns in a 3point thriller
Cobras beat Titans by 3 goals
Controversial call on Heights Karim. After pinging the Roadrunners 1pt win, who would doubt you.

If this game was at Suns ground I’d say Suns by 6-7 goals. Heights always play a lot better at home so Karim could be onto something here.

toughest team in the comp plus at home even tougher, add the rain and a heap of contested footy on a small ground I think heights will just get the win. Will be first real test for the suns, going to be some sore bodies from that game

So are you saying Braybrook was not a real test. Suns won by 16points against Braybrook in round 1 - after Braybrook played 1 quarter of footy.

Dragons to cause a upset over the Suns,

60something 70 in the ressies, 98 78 points in the seniors.

Both the Dragons and Suns were cruelled - cruelled, I say! - by the umpiring. One was div4 standard with occasional encouraging bursts of ordinary, the other had delusions of adequacy. The final score for both sides is incorrect due to scoring errors from the goalies - clear goals being given a behind, a couple of behinds given as out on the full.

The kids doing the scoreboard didn't quite keep up (no problem) and disappeared at the end of the quarters (nothing unusual there), so it was out for much of the game (at least they had a go, good on them. Give them a pie and coke after the game).

It is reported that at the end of the first quarter, the umps got the scoreboard corrected and then waved it off - 4-3-28. Oh, OK. And it is rumoured - hearsay and conjecture - that at three quarter time, the scoreboard was 2 goals under, one goalie's card had one point too many, the other goalie was three goals three points too few. Umpires could not agree on the score, neither matched the scoreboard, but it was waved off as correct and they set off to begin the last quarter. Again it is only rumoured that someone had to supply the scores that the timekeepers and team managers had recorded.

A glittering endorsement for the WRFL proud boast that "we supply umpires for all matches" and then demand average whistleblowers and young kids to back up ressies and seniors, and still expect them to be able to perform for eight quarters. It isn't fair on the umpires and it sure as hell isn't fair on the players and spectators.

Looking forward to the challenge next week with Albanvale!

Edit: corrected margins
