...and in one of the worlds truly great coincidences of the 21st century, after a long delay this scandal just happens to go public immediately AFTER an election.
Obviously nothing to see here. No way political imperatives define Vic police.

It truly is another world in Victoria.
Are you even allowed to suggest collusion/corruption ??....or would that get you thrown in the Moe Gulag ?
Why don't you tell us how this relates to Andrews who was first elected Premier in 2014 and the event you are talking about happened between 2004 and 2009?

Why the fanboi paranoia ? Who said Andrews was involved in the actual scandal ? Dont panic and fret.

You arnt even remotely curious how this massive scandal brewing for years was squeezed out like a runny fart just after an election ?
Pure coincidence ?
The whole thing stinks. Reeks of deliberate complicit activity between successive Police commissioners and successive Premiers...all designed to keep the people in the dark to protect their arses.
They need to dig reallllyyy deep on this one. It'll take years to sort.

Its been going through the high court for years.
The Court ordered it to be suppressed not the Government
Newscorp have reported as much as the Court has allowed them to, for about 3 years

You might need some more tin-foil, I think you have run out

Yeah no s**t. They should have some sort of grand investigation, maybe like a royal commission or something...

Very defensive arnt they. One even hoping the RC called just a few days ago is some sort of evidence there's nothing to see here.
You guys on the payroll ?

So the Vic Govt havent been tinkering about with suppression and closed court order law this year ? Must have been some other state.

This particular order just happens to be lifted straight after an election. Yeah no worries. Timing not important. No good could have come of it coming out sooner. Nothing to see here.
Who applied for that particular suppression order ?

This, mark my words, will take a long time, claim many scalps, and will take a mountain of bullshit to cover up what really went on. The deeper they go the more tentacles they will find...and probably claim scalps thru the courts as well.

Its a very very serious scandal.

It is a very serious matter but which part is the 'scandal' and who has covered it up?

The high courts in cahoots with the Vic government apparently
But the real scandal is that the Vic government is in cahoots with the Bigfooty posters who try to cover up the whole conspiracy.

It's interesting that Bollox shows up just as GoldenSky disappears. I wonder when Geelong Crazy will come back...

See if you can work out what this means - Separation of Powers

I'll bet it totally confuses you

If the Hun could pin something on Andrews you would certainly know about it

Michael O'Brien is the new opposition leader, amazing to believe Victoria will have a Labor government until at least 2026!
He's a Carlton supporter so at least he knows what a slow rebuild is like.

It will take at 2 terms or 8 years before the Coalition can consider themselves in contention to regain government.

Michael O'Brien will hoping like hell that there will be no more trouble within its federal counterparts in Canberra, because that's one of the key reasons why they lost the Victorian election by such a big margin.

The other consideration is who leads the Libs post-Federal election? If it's someone who wants to drag them further to the right to appeal to marginal Queensland electorates, that will continue to hurt them in Victoria which on the whole is more progressive. Dutton would be electoral poison south of the Tweed.

This despicable grub surfaces again

"If the Greens and Labor wanted more Liberal women in the parliament they shouldn't have run against and beat them" - Vic Lib MLC Bernie Finn:
Definitely the best Blame Labor excuse so far. Finn is an incompetent muppet.

Politics isn't football, it's not like the liberals need to hit the draft and train a new crop of elite MPs. There's no reason they couldn't win in four years time, the question is how much they're willing to learn from this wipeout and the impending federal one next year.

There will always be white collar assholes like myself who want a pro-business party to put more bacon on their tables. And a lot more of us white collar assholes would have voted liberal in this election, if the liberals weren't also packages with 1950's social conservatism.

I'd argue that they really do need to rethink their draft strategy and it's quite clear they don't really have any elite performers currently.

The sudden influx of Pentecostals and religious freaks permeating through the party is clouding their judgement to what the average vote wants. Especially as they seemed to be in charge of policy making well lack of policies really. Which all ties into that 1950s mindset you mentioned.

It doesn't need to take eight years to change that though, it doesn't even take four. The issue is they don't believe they need to make that change though and that Trump style reactionary politics will eventually get them somewhere.

It shouldn't take 8 years, but at this rate it will. Which is unfortunate as having two strong and good parties to choose from will only benefit everyone.

They just elected a hard right nutter to lead them in their re-build

In the world of compulsory voting and diminishing effect of newspapers I can't see how such a strategy would work for the Libs.
