The psychology of the match was s**t too. Roman didn't sell Sami at all, character wise.

Ideally he should have started out cocky, without respect for him, gotten increasingly frustrated, before becoming desperate and doing things like begging off / trying to mess with Sami's head when Sami has gotten the better of him.

He barely put him over as a threat at all, really. When they cheated, he didn't even ask for it to occur, and by the end he was still telling him that he was a joke who didn't belong.

Awful.

Awful.

It looked as though the crowd constantly chanting 'F you Roman' was throwing him completely off his game due to everybody in the building refusing to 'acknowledge' him. He made errors as a result and looked more vulnerable. I had no issue with the psychology as a result.

That’s every Roman match it’s all just big moves and spots he sucks at the psychology and story telling

His character work has usually been spot in, even in matches. I just don't think he actually wanted to put Sami over here (in winning or defeat).

He needed to look really vulnerable, or actually afraid at some point for Sami to get his moment. He didn't do it.

He was laughing and smirking at it in the beginning, and taunting the crowd for not being loud enough at other times.

If that was it, he was horribly inconsistent at it.

He also didn't get thrown off his game at all.

There's no second gear to his matches either because the bloke needs a breather after every couple of spots. Remember that Royal rumble he slept in the corner for 45 minutes. He had almost as long a rest when the bell rang today after walking to the ring lol.

He was. Then they stalled and it clearly affected him. He then showed arrogance whenever he took the advantage (as if it was bound to happen) but made more mistakes that usual resulting in some near falls that felt closer than any other opponent had managed to achieve against him.

At least that's how I saw it.

Didn't he go backstage to have a nap as well?

Sami got as close as anyone has to beating him, but he apparently didn’t sell the Sami character at all….. hmmm

His feeding off the crowd was excellent, and the taunts to Sami’s wife and family even better.

He does the 'i'd lose but the referee is out' spot in like every match. Then he beat the s**t out of him, and got an easy pin.

He didn't sell with character work at all. By the end of the match he took Sami no more seriously than the beginning. Sami didn't prove anything.

How did his taunting Sami's wife help get Sami over? That sort of provocation and there was no pay off to it character wise.

So he played it every single way with no rhyme or reason in between?

That was always gonna happen! Although credit to em because for a split second in a few times that match I thought they were going the other way. Edge of your seat throughout.

Good to see so many people up in arms that the baby face lost. Guess that’s the point.

Glad Jey didn’t go one way or the other yet. There is still 6 weeks until WrestleMania so there is still so much more storytelling to go.

Only thing, Owens coming out after the match when there was plenty of interference during the match was a head scratcher.

Thought the event overall was very good.
It's not like KO and Sami are on good terms at the moment. Sure, Sami didn't kill him with a chair at the Rumble, but he didn't exactly help KO either and he'd been opposing him for months up to that point. KO and Sami didn't actually interact tonight except a couple of looks.

Plenty more to go here.

A long and winding story about a tag team no one wants? That'll hook em

Getting a similar vibe tonight as the one from Clash at the Castle.

Drew had a good build and looked primed to win the title there. Then the match had a finish that killed the buzz of the arena.

Sami's build with the bloodline has had far more time put into though. Which probs makes it worse if he goes off somewhere else and tags with Owens, like Drew has with Sheamus after his loss.

But think about how rewarding it will be for the audience when Sami and Kevin win midcard belts together, before we inevitably repeat the same feud that they've had dozens of time against each other.

I agree, Sami should be champ. And Owens. And Cody. And Reigns still. And Drew to make up for Clash. And Gunther once he drops the IC title. Everyone should be world champ at the same time!

Edit: and another thing, screw elevating other titles!

It's not particularly elevating for workers and titles if they've already won them a bunch.

You make it sound like 6 people having title runs in the span of 2-3 years (with either a RAW or SD world title) is impossible.
