Kolpak players are still a drain on South Africa's first class cricket.

White South Africans are leaving the country because their are written rules against them in S.A cricket. If the South African national team and regional teams had no race quota's ,far less players would be exiting. 600,000 white south africans emigrating to England in the last decade and some of them have gone on to play cricket .

14,000 attendance according to cricinfo.

pretty good that one.

after watching these tests with the hills i've decided i've gotta get to the next australia south africa series.

I read somewhere that Dilshan was only meant to be temporary, with Angelo Mathews the choice in mind for 2015 WC. If that's the plan though I don't understand why Sangakkara wasn't retained.

I am still dumbfounded at how anyone could think it was a good idea to bowl first in those conditions, and with our attack.

Was pretty obvious it wasn't an aggressive or bold move to send south africa in, sri lanka were terrified of being rolled early, i get the feeling they would be delighted to just bat out a tame draw here and bask in the glory of finally winning a test in south africa.

Lmao at the comment from Robin Jackman.

"Why does the melon head have to get in the way? Looking at an attractive young lady in a pretty hat and... I dunno..." :D :thumbsu:

I could imagine the outrage if this was said in Australia though. Chaps like MWNN and others in the kiss cam thread would be all over it.

Not taking anything away from Kallis but it's Sobers.

Not having seen Sobers play, I understand the romanticism in which he is held, the punishing batting and the diverse bowling arsenal - however Kallis record is simply outstanding and would stack up against Sobers.

If you wanted someone batting 6 as your all-rounder in a world X1 - both would suffice.

ABDV has really turned it on since bring up his 100. Very similar to how he batted in the UAE against Pakistan for his 278* about 18 months ago. Once he decides it's time to go, he doesn't hold back.

Rudolph too, came out and threw the blade straight away. Very unselfish for a guy who hasn't had the best summer.

Hope ABDV brings up the 200 here. Wouldn't want to bat much longer after tea, however. You don't klnow how hard it will be to bowl Lanka out twice. But their heads are down, so they might be rolled for 100 yet.

Very flat pitch (one assumes, but could just be a terrible SL bowling line up), but De Villiers is such an awesome batsmen. So good to watch when he gets going and is very much underrated imo.

Also noticed that world cricket fans are stealing Barmy Army chants. Was being done at the G last week and now being done again by the Saffer fans. :p Good atmosphere though!

Bugger, Smith declares.

Hitting like that is just so, so more entertaining in a Test match. Escpecially when a batsman has done the hard work up front and decides it time to tax a tired and undisciplined attack.

pretty unusual they've played two tests at cape town in a summer.

haven't played at st george park since 2007. anyone know why of the top of their head??

I love it how our medium pacers such as Hilfenhaus are apparently bowling 140-150 yet you got Dale Steyn ripping it through and is only bowling 135kph. I think Ch9 got so obsessed with the Shaun Tait factor they're fudging speeds, or they've cut costs and gone with cheaper speed guns which can be switched to 'wild thing' mode.
