People? Plural?

There is only one person, singular, who would know.

Rubbish.
The club would have a fair idea where they sit by now.
Whether its a 'likely' or 'unlikely' scenario.

Plus you've got all of Dangers friends and family who would probably hvae a fair idea, along with his manager.

I'd say none of them would know.

If that many people knew, you can guarantee there would be leaks. If the club had an inkling they would be briefing like its nobodies business.

Theres no point in leaking it because then people like you jump down peoples throats saying theres no way they'd know.

You're in as good position to know whether hes decided yet/told people than anyone else is as to whether hes leaving or staying.

Then there would never be any leaks anywhere, leaks happen because humans can't keep secrets.

Are you just talking about the AFC?

Nope widespread.
The communication/social media age has made bullshit more prevalent and therefore people are less likely to believe something they hear or read.
The day before Walsh was announced as coach I was told by someone that he would be, but of course we'd heard it all before with Clarkson, Dew, Bassett etc...so nobody believed him.

The same as if someone came out now and said Danger is gone to Collingwood at the end of 2015 would you believe it?
What about if they said that Danger was going to sign in march?

Nobody believes anything they read these days, so even the people with good info get lambasted for presenting facts.

There have been plenty of "leaks" though. Just, in both directions. Right here on Bigfooty we've had several people make posts saying they know someone who says that he's staying, and we've had several people make posts saying they know someone who says that he's gone.

The real issue is that there doesn't seem to be any good way to determine whether the leaks are credible other than if the person doing the leaking has a good track record of getting it right.

For me the bigger issue is that anyone who says "he isn't going - fact" is just not being realistic. Even if Danger himself thinks this is the case, things can change over time. Likewise, if he is thinking that he wants to leave, that can change over time as well.

I know this is about forthhand but the origins are a senior administrator from the Crows, the info he shared to family members was that Danger is off to Geelong.

This is information from a my friends dogs original owners cousin but they reckon that Dangerfield is going to accept a massive 300k per game offer from Liverpool to replace Gerrard.

My neighbours cousins friends chicken thinks he'll take over from Wenger at Arsenal. Apparently, he's a good egg.

Hypothetically if we finish eighth and Danger wants to go to Geelong, would we be better off

A) accepting the compensation pick (pick 12), or

B) having a significant offer in front of Motlop and if he agrees to come, match their offer to danger and try and make it a straight swap?

If this were the case, how does it reconcile with our off-season approach during trade period?
If he only wanted to go to Geelong and they wouldn't trade what approach did we have? I'm not saying that was the case but could explain it.

As for the origin of the news, if I said the name I think a few on here would be a little more worried. I know I am.

Sure, I can see that. But on the other hand, if we believe that (and I'm not saying we don't) what sense does it make for noble & co. To say the things they did about backing ourselves in, trusting our culture etc

I'm not saying we couldn't have been that short sighted, but it would be dosappinting if we did. Hit n hope expectation management hasnt worked out so well for us in the past

I really don't think the club can be criticised for last trade period re Danger. Put simply, we had no cards to play.

If Danger and Geelong have a deal then we were nothing but a bystander with our only hope being Geelong wanting him a year early and offering something for the privilege.

It's a glaring hole in the FA rules IMO that leaves any club with their d...k in their hands putting on a brave front to the media.

If true, that wouldn't excuse our public statements or inactivity in free agency. If we believe he's gone, we should be throwing his money at someone else last time round

Hopefully we would be this year

Aren't you one of the posters who go on about others who come on here, post some vague info and then don't back it up with a source?

Gonna show ya cards and give us a name?
