I don't think that's accurate. I think it was that he wasn't going to leave Melbourne as he'd finally settled after moving there from the NT

The best news is that Treloar will nominate collingwood...you could see it a mile away that they will bid on Mills just because of Eddie. Can't see Essendon bidding, they want Parish or Curnow. In fact they want both in an ideal world I would assume.

Can see mills sliding to around pick 10 before a bid is entered.

Collingwood finished 12th. If Mills is still available by then it'll be a miracle.

Inside Footy have their latest phantom draft update in this weeks issue, not good news I'm afraid :-( Their top 11 stays the same since a couple of months ago, rankings have changed a little. A couple of players bolting up the order after pick 11 on the back of good TAC Cup form post championships. So the bad news is

1. Weitering KPD (Carlton pick 1)
2. Schache KPD (Brisbane pick 2)
3. MILLS - WTF? (will cost our 1st pick plus)
4. Hopper mid GWS Academy (will cost their first pick 8)
5. Parish mid (Gold Coast pick 3)
6. Curnow utility (Essendon pick 4)
7. Francis utility (St.Kilda pick 5)
8. Kennedy mid GWS Academy (will cost pick 7 they get from Pies for Treloar)
9. Hipwood 200cm utility Brisbane Academy (will cost mid teens pick they get for Aish)
10. Mathieson mid (Melbourne pick 6)
11. McKay KPF (Geelong pick 9)

As I keep saying, hugely interesting trade period and national draft, how much more exciting will the slow moving slightly boring ND telecast be??

Rubbish. Where are Tucker, Ah Chee, and Keays? Francis and possibly Hopper should be in front of Mills.

Yeo,wellingham,cripps,mcarthy, j hill, pearce and possibly jetta are all valid points for the necessity of academies in northern states. Traditional football states will always benefit from the go home factor
