I agree and I don't understand why someone does not want to swap a pick in 30s for it considering how good a selection it is.

Your forgetting that Brisbanes picks from 38-42 will be mostly eaten up by academy points. 53 will move up the order a lot while in a pick in the 30s could actually go down in position.

He would be depth. That's about it.

Most of my lions supporting mates don't even rate him and he's on their list.

Presumably now that we're making a first round pick this year, next year we can trade our 2016 first rounder and our 2017 first rounder? The AFL's on-the-fly rules say we have to make 2 first round picks in 4 years, so presumably pick 17 this year counts. I'd say that for those hoping we go after Kelly next year (read: everyone), the mooted Bastinac trade is good news.

Everyone needs to calm down ffs. If someone told me our net gain would essentially be Bastinac (someone struggling for best 22) for Anderson (a young player with all the attributes we were crying out for) and downgrading pick 15 to 17, I think most would have taken it. It means we take 17 and 34 into the draft, and I'm betting some late pick swaps will be part of the trade as well (to upgrade some rookies), and best of all, it screws over Collingwood. Wins all round I reckon!

Bris's 2016 2nd maybe a top 20 pick next year in a better draft + provide extra currency/flexibility in next years trade period.
