We've only got Rucci's version of events. Enough said.Well it's about time.

Blues midfield will get slaughtered once we take Gibbs out of it. Absolutely put to the sword.
They should've taken Lyons while they had the chance haha

His job.
F*** it....lets rebuildwho have been propped up by the AFL with the Cola allowance and now academies where they get a top 5 pick every year.
Except for when Hawthorn didn't make the finals for 5 years in a row in the mid 2000's and rebuilt.
I'm halfway there with you but **** me, "going all in" on Gibbs doesn't have the same ring to it as getting someone like a Parker (as we dreamed to pull off) or Treloar (as Collingwood did pull off).We need ready made quality. Weve struggled to get players. We need mids. We've gone ballsy and poached a contracted one.
He will be the best user of all our mids & complement them beautifully. The first mid with polish that can actually hit targets since the Goodwin macca days. A nice change from all out grunt.
We will give up a first and likely pick downgrade on another, and apparently that's insanity. Bullshit. It's like buying 32 bucks worth of fuel and going nah **** that, it's not worth two 20 dollar notes.
It will be a good trade. Or we can keep going round in circles drafting like we have for 10 years. Go all in, this year and next, have a tilt at the flag. Win it, or crash and burn- it's better than mid table.
Then we can talk about who we will get with our top 5 pick and rebuild properly.
If the swap of first rounder for their second is true, not sure how I feel about that as it's pretty risky given Carlton might impress more than expected or we fail to fire. Add that with compo picks being handed out and it could drop a few more places but I suppose it's better than no Gibbs.
If their second back was true I'd love for us to turn it over for Rockliff, basically giving up two first rounders for Gibbs and Rockliff which would be a win in my eyes. Lose Lyons (for cap reasons) but it gets us into the second round of this draft so we can still top up a little.
That said, I feel we won't be doing anything else outside of Gibbs in return for players coming to us, hasn't really been any talk of anyone else linked with us at all which I think we'd have otherwise heard by now. If Rocky was much of a chance I think there would be a little more noise about it.

That is true, but they got a few correct! And they benefited significantly from the priority pick rule at the time (but still completely stuffed up some of their first rounders - hello Beau Dowling and Mitch Thorpe).
That system doesn't exist anymore.
Kennedy worth a first rounder. He was top 4 pick two years prior. Carlton gave up essentially two top 5 picks and pick 30 for Judd. We are reportedly giving up 1 st rounder and slipping down half a dozen spots at most in 2017.
Comprehension obviously not a strong point!
We also held PSD pick 1 that year and Judd was uncontracted and had nominated us.
West coast had just ran him into the ground too. His groins were all but shot that year.
Pick 3, 20 and Kennedy (pick 4 and multiple Coleman medallist for them) wasn't a bad deal. They're certainly not complaining about it now.
Masten is still a spud and Notte (the bloke they picked at 20) is long gone.
We probably wouldn't have made it into the finals as far as we did if we didn't do the deal. He also brought us hope after a dark time indeed. I still see the trade as a win/win.
(For completeness we got a pick back in the 40s off them in addition to Juddy, which we used on Armfield. He's had his moments and is a useful player on his day.)
He's generally very reliable, not sure about that Tuohy trade though. Geelong could only do it if they traded back in to the first round in either 17 or 18 which isn't impossible but would seem like a pretty big risk. It also seems overs for Tuohy but I guess they gave us a future first for Henderson last year.So there is a poster on the Carlton board who reckons he has good goss, anyway he's saying it's 1st this year and next year or McGovern.
He also went on to say that they are going to get Geelongs first for 2017 for Tuohy.
When questioned that Geelong can't as they traded 2 firsts last year he said that's not right, they only traded a first for Henderson and pick 9 for Danger. Now he can't be too bright as pick 9 was a first round pick
That fills me with confidence that the first part is crap.
Is it possible for a club to end up with a pick they previously traded?
eg:
Adelaide: Lyons + 13 > Gold Coast for pick 8
Adelaide: pick 8 > Carlton for Gibbs
Carlton swap 5 for Gold Coast 8 plus Marchbank and Pickett
Adelaide lose 13 and Lyons gain Gibbs
Carlton lose Gibbs and 5 gain Marchbank, Pickett and 8 (3 pick downgrade)
Gold Coast lose 8, Marchbank and Pickett and gain 5 and 13 and Lyons
Possible? Probable?

Ah shit of course... I need to go to bed lolGWS have Marchbank/Pickett mate, not GC

Adelaide: Lyons + 13 > Gold Coast for pick 8
Adelaide: pick 8 > Carlton for Gibbs
Carlton swap 8 for GWS 15, Marchbank and Pickett
Adelaide lose 13 and Lyons gain Gibbs
Carlton lose Gibbs gain Marchbank, Pickett and 15
Gold Coast lose 8, gain 13 and Lyons
GWS lose 15, Marchbank and Pickett and gain 8
Possible? Probable?
Yeah might need pick swaps further down, but the general structure seems to be win/win. We get Gibbs for a reasonable amount, you guys get two kids and a first rounder, GWS shift up to another top 10 pick and GC get Lyons for a 5 spot downgrade.I reckon Carlton win that trade handsomely.
