I don't think the eagles McGovern has been going that great for awhile now.. but if he comes over and takes hartigans spot I would be more than happy with that.

Huh? Made the All Australian squad. He's going alright.
While it would have been nice getting Mitch, him not going to Freo means we are less likely to lose Big Gov.

Im merely wondering what Adelaide had to give up. There were apparently good offers from WA for him, and we know they dont like paying overs for anyone, so I just wonder if they did.

I saw him a couple of weeks ago at Spotless, he looked in pretty good form to me. I take your point though, and it's fair enough.
Will Freo ever sign another big name forward. Its lucky they have Kersten.

Losing Lever is a bummer but if he's getting big money offers as reported, we should be compensated with a decent pick.
Cameron's form is at rock bottom. I doubt we get anything more than a second rounder for him and that would probably be fair. He started the year well but has been bloody terrible for weeks now. All sizzle and no steak. I don't give two shits about trading him providing we don't go blundering the draft. Maybe we could use the pick in another deal. Whatever happens, I will back the club in.
If they can re-sign Lever as well the Crows would have done a bloody good job.

Adelaide generally keeps more than it loses. If you look over the Crows list you'd see plenty of interstate talent signed up. Last year everybody said Josh Jenkins and Brad Crouch we're going and they both signed on to long term deals. Nobody ever talks about the deals we get done because it doesn't fit the narrative of us being a departure club.
It seems like every year we're going to have to endure this sort of stuff. Our best players usually remain obscure until they are coming out of contract. Just wait and see what happens with Matt Crouch. He will fly under the radar until there's a chance he leaves Adelaide all of sudden everybody in the Victoria footy media won't stop going on about him and we repeat the same old cycle all over again. It gets pretty tiresome but it's a side effect of having good player development.
Honestly haven't seen him play and wouldn't want to comment.

Leaving in itself isn't proof of being all about yourself - maybe Jake is desperate to get home to family like Dangerfield was. It's true it means he isn't all about the Crows, but he might be all about family and other people he's close to, so we really can't judge him as a mercenary unless we know he is through other means. Sucks to lose a great player though - I get why you'd be pissed.
