Chris Scott's comments on 360 on Monday night would cast doubt on that. My understanding is Mots is looking around because we deferred contract talks until the season is over.

Agree that if he goes Port would be the likely destination, but there's a lot to play out before that is done and dusted I think.
i heard his comments but i dont really understand them as from what ive heard its pretty much been an open secret, If Scott was so in love with Motlop i dont see why he's would have left it till the end of the year to say it, maybe he just didnt want to appear to be getting rid of motlop for no reason, i think motlops had a meh year and 2 good finals

Can see the Scablett deal going thru, Smith a maybe 50/50 but highly doubt we get Stringer, hes going to the Bombers. All these rumors are probably piss and wind like usual. My money is on someone completely out of the blue that has not once been mentioned.
Are you basing the Bombers claim on the HUN reporting?

There's more to it and I'm shattered he's leaving. The club, the leadership group and more specifically the fans are to blame in this.

Let's hope he's treated with respect at Port.

Waldron knows less than nothing.. we are Huge on Stringer.

Smith is not coming our way though, he may have been at one point but he will end up at Carlton

I just listened to it... I cant believe that they would bring up Duncan and Cockatoo.. Waldron has a real been in his bonnet about the Suns must do this or that ... I suspect if it does crash and burn he will then say it was Geelong fault for not trading enough.

Wonder how it changes so abruptly.......has something unexpectedly come to light?
Clubs talking him down to ensure that they don't have to pay too much to nab him would be my guess

Rumour has it that clubs a wary of Stringer for whatever reason. The Tiges spoke to him but have been open about him not being a fit for their needs. The Bombers have apparently said they won't put-up an early draft pick for him. And we are cooling somewhat too. He might just end-up back at the kennel.

Whats the twang factor...just how far does his value drop that he is attractive to other clubs and the Dogs still willing to trade... if multiple clubs are cool on an obviously talented 23 year old player he must have world trip luggage. I would hope we really look past the talent and think about at what point does it go to what was much vaunted ... build a list around no DH's and and good people etc

Trade cycle new run:

Player X has meeting with Team Y
Media - Player X is definitely playing for Team Y next year
Player X has meeting with Team Z
Media - Player X is definitely playing for Team Y next year now

Don't get sucked in by any media speculation until you hear a statement from a players manager like you heard from Pickering on Monday, that a player has made a firm decision on which club he wants to go to, otherwise you'll go mad over the next month.

Nah just think they suit him more than we do. Hope I'm wrong but I've had the feeling we won't get him all along.
Why do they suit him more than us do you think?

People do realise Stringer met with Cats officials for a second time today, yes?
Certainly do, had his first meeting with the club last week after his media conference on trade radio kick off and today was his second meeting, unlike Bombers who've only had the one meeting with him.

Our Trade period is rarely uneventful ... and its one thing to being linked to Stringer , Smith and Ablett ... but with the outs Im hoping there is not another Caddy type surprise this year... The talk of Duncan for Ablett is Looney Tunes ..he would be equal to a R1 pick at least.

And an early round one at that

Closer to his kids, they'll be on the way up next year and in my opinion we'll drop down, he'd partner up well with Daniher who will probably be the best forward in the game next year. And after all the shit that team has been thru over the last few years I reckon their player welfare and support team would be right up there with the best now.

Duncan is finally an A grader. Highly doubt we move him as soon as he reaches his potential.

Some media personnel clearly need the clicks

Where did you get that conclusive statement from?

I heard Jake say on radio a short time ago that he'd been asked by his mate Johannisen earlier today whether he'd made a call on a team and he told him he had not.
Agree. Nothing coming threw the Facebook pages that he choosen bombers. Not like when Ablett did yesterday.

As opposed to one of the best player welfare clubs already in place at Geelong?
Playing second or third forward to Hawkins an Dangerfield would be a bit of a reinvigorating position to find himself in
