You thinking it might be the kiss of death? It could be worse--- at least I recognise AceAndy's name.
I'm not even sure this is supposed to make sense.
NUMBERS ON THE SEASON
Gun of the Year
We proposed that everybody should have a chance at the award, so we've established an adjusting factor for all the positions in qooty. There were 7 different AF. It doesn't mean that the highest ARSE would necessarily win.
In 8 rounds (half of the season), the highest DT and the highest ARSE coincided; and in all of them the Gun was awarded to that rookie. In the remaining rounds, twice the Committee didn't elect the highest ARSE. In 1, the winner was not even the highest DT.
Moreover, in 10 rounds, the decision wasn't unanimous; with 3 of those decided by either one or two votes of difference (4-3; 4-3; 4-2).
Fielding Choice by Adjusting Factor
— AF 1.05, 147 (37.9%)
W, 94 (24.2%)
C, 29 (7.5%)
RO, 17 (4.4%)
R, 7 (1.8%)
— AF 1.55, 96 (24.8%)
HBF, 43 (11.1%)
CHF, 32 (8.3%)
CHB, 11 (2.8%)
FF, 10 (2.6%)
— AF 1.40, 53 (13.7%)
HFF, 53 (13.7%)
— AF 3.00, 44 (11.3%)
FP, 44 (11.3%)
— AF 2.40, 30 (7.8%)
IC, 20 (5.2%)
BP, 10 (2.6%)
— AF 1.00, 13 (3.4%)
RR, 13 (3.4%)
— AF 2.25, 5 (1.3%)
FB, 5 (1.3%)
The AF 1.05 won most Guns (5), followed by AF 1.55 and AF 3.00 (both with 3). The correlation between awarded AF and more-played positions was broken by AF 1.40, that won 2 awards – the same as AF 2.40 (2). The last awarded AF was AF 1.00 with 1.
The first 6 awards ended up going to positions with distinct AF. The only adjusting factor that was unrewarded, and it didn't win at all, was the one used for FB (AF 2.25), which was also the position in which the rookies have played the fewest.
It does make sense within the way the Gun was set.I'm not even sure this is supposed to make sense.
I'm not even sure this is supposed to make sense.
I wish someone explained it this well to me.From what I can tell (I'm sure a member of the S29 class will correct me):
There's Two Categories:
The Gun-- Best Rookie Qooty Player
w/ Gun Squad-- The Top 20 Rookie Qooty Players selected as a Team
The Torch-- Best Rookie Poster
w/The Torch Guard -- The Top 5 Posters of the S30 Class
Then those two categories combine for the "Rising Star' Award (aka. The SausageRoll). Former winners include PurpleGreenRed AceAndy, Yakker & Elton Johns Wig.
Then separate to the Rising Star Committee (voted by the previous rookie class) is the EKA which is the Best S30 player according to the 12 SFA clubs.
If that half empty frozen cupboard wins im going to be filthyI'm working on it.
He hasn't given me a lot to work with if I completely honest, but lucky I'm not, nor is the rest of the committee. We'll make it happen.
Show me the money! If that half empty frozen cupboard wins im going to be filthy
I barely understand the above. Think I've had about 3 semi decent games on the wing so should be a real shout.I'm working on it.

Nah, I disqualified him.Why are you campaigners stringing this sh*t out? Just get on with it already. Give it to Kilroy - he’d be a worthy winner.
You have disqualified every rookie!Nah, I disqualified him.
That's why it is so difficult to announce a winner! You have disqualified every rookie!
We have collected tons of data and now we are sharing it!Why are you campaigners stringing this sh*t out?
