Weightman should not play. The rule is exploitable and pretty dumb though.
At the very least, the club and the doctor are taking away the AFL's control of the situation. Meaning that the decision on whether he should or shouldn't play this week is made entirely by our doctor based on all the information he/she has at hand. Not just an automatic 12 day suspension imposed by the AFL

Mark Stevens usually gets good mail..things looking good. Might just be sore from a knock.

At a guess - Scan all clear no structural damage, Bont still sore, Bont will follow our protocols with the view he puts his hand up for selection but we wont know till our last training session.

It's not just port supporters but it's but I feel like most other teams are starting to hate us & looking for excuses. They are afraid of the team we are going to become over the next 4-5 years. We should take this as a badge of honor.

A forward line of Marra, Naughton, Weightman etc...
A Midfield that needs no further explanation

A backline that is super underrated and only needs 1 more key piece.

A gun ruck is also required. Otherwise we are a great team and a potential dynasty.

Port's strength is their backline.

Naughton is going to need some serious support this weekend.

Contrary to the media commentary, I thought Schache played well. He did go missing at times, but bobbed up when it mattered. He also flew for grabs in packs which was good.

Do we bring in an extra tall? Does Hannan tag Aliir?

Not sure Hannan is physical enough for Aliir. I’d try and get the Naughton match up and take him up the ground or as deep as possible. Then let Tim play mainly forward and get the McKenzie match up. My only concern is what happened on Saturday.. Young gets smashed and then Tim has to ruck more. It’ll completely throw out our forward structure. Schache will probably end up on Jonas.

Let's reverse the South Australian Finals curse.

Despite being favourite to defeat the Crows in each final we've played against them (1997, 1998 and 2015), they eliminated us from each of those finals campaigns. Let's buck that trend this week, as the underdog, and knock out their South Australian rivals.

You listen to the media, and even some of our supporters, and it seems like we're destined to lose this week. A lot of what I'm reading and hearing seems to suggest that because Port are full strength, riding a seven game win streak, and playing a home Preliminary Final against a team that has travelled two weeks in a row, has lost three of their past five matches, and have some key personnel either injured or in doubt, the result of a Bulldogs loss is a foregone conclusion.

I'm here to tell you it's not. Did the Crows in 1997 think it was a foregone conclusion that they'd lose to us in the Preliminary Final?

Going into the 1997 Preliminary Final, the Crows enjoyed a comfortable victory in week one of the finals, before winning an absolute thriller in their Semi Final to earn their way through to an away Preliminary Final. This is quite similar to our finals campaign thus far.

In 1997, the Crows lost by less than a kick in the final round of the season. Sound familiar?

In 1997, the Crows' Preliminary Final opponent defeated them late on in the Home and Away season on the road. Sound familiar?

In 1997, the Crows defeated their Preliminary Final opponent early on in the season, despite that victory being on the road. Sound familiar?

On Preliminary Final Saturday in 1997, the Crows faced adversity by having the following key players unavailable: Ricciuto, Liptak and Caven. They also lost their leading goal kicker (Modra) during the match.

This Saturday night, the Bulldogs too will be facing adversity with a few key players either being unavailable through injury, players under an injury cloud, and players who have recently returned from injury that haven't quite re-established their best form.

The odds are stacked against us, but they were also stacked against the Crows in 1997.

It's time to reverse this effing curse and win a cut throat final against a South Australian team.

I would just prefer to say that we are the better team- which we are. Not sure the home ground advantage is that big in finals.,We should get 50% of the members crowd and we have lots of SA supporters.

The -problem will be the ruck, which it always is.

We smashed you in every single relevant stat that last game. You were lucky to keep it so close bceause we couldn't kick
Nice troll account

Why do you feel the need to come onto an opposition board. Is it because yours is a disgrace, wishing injuries on opposition players? Or is it the umpire whinging when the ball hasn't even been bounced and you got the rub of the green on both times this year?

I think you're lost. Head back to your own board please, particularly if your only contribution will be to disagree with dogs fans posting here.

Although tbf Port did beat the dogs in a key stat in both games this year - 25 to 23 when the dogs won at AO, and 23 to 15 when Port won at Marvel. Guess what that stat was? Maybe when you go back to your board you can tell your fellow supporters.

We weren't favourites in 1998, confirmed when Rohan Smith (184cm, 80kg) lined up on Matthew Robran (194cm, 98kg) at the opening bounce. We had tall (but inexperienced) options, Plough had seen in 1994 what happens to an undersized team in a big final, yet he opted for that match up.

Game was over at 1/4 time, Robran and McLeod were already running amuk in the first quarter.

Allir doesn’t ‘take’ any player. He takes the ball. He’s an intercept marker, and one of the best. You counteract him by shutting off space . We take him, not the other way round.

In fairness, this is all true. Port toyed with us for three quarters.

But that was then, bring on the now.

How were we not favourite?

We finished second, spent 15 weeks occupying top spot and the other seven weeks occupying second spot, the Crows finished fifth, lost their first final, and we beat them in the Home and Away season.

How were we not favourite in 1998?
