S.A. Gov won’t let us do a captains run and final training session.

This is crazy. AFL shouldn’t have scheduled a game in a State where one team can’t do a training session before the game.

Hope the boys use this as more fuel.
Completely ridiculous. We haven't been in Victoria for more than 2 weeks now.

Far too logical to look at it that way.

Club and AFL should grow some b**ls and spell that out to the SA Government.

Ridiculous

Imagine the brouhaha on BF if the Vic Govt bought in such a call against a nonVic club. Joint would blow up

Can I just pay tribute to the traveling squad.

Beyond about 25/26 players, the balance are -
- and would know they are - very unlikely to play. However they went on this tour of Australia with the soul purpose of supporting their teammates, providing opposition at training, enabling scratch matches to be played for the benefit of those on the fringe and building team morale.

Not an easy thing to do in normal times - even tougher when you have to leave family, girlfriends and friends behind as they endure lockdown

However far this journey takes us - and I’m a believer - they are a major part of it and their role should not be forgotten

Great post. And I reckon Josh Bruce, although he did the right thing in the circumstances in staying with his young family while injured, would be very sad about not being there.

Meh we need the rest. And this will just give us more righteous strength!
The path of the righteous team is beset on all sides
By the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men
Blessed is he who, in the name of Footscray
Shepherds the players through the valley of darkness
For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost dogs
And I will strike down upon thee
With great vengeance and furious anger
Those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers
And you will know my name is Dog
When I lay my vengeance upon thee

This is a joke. The whole reason we flew to Perth was to avoid this kind of bollocks.

The SA health ministers comments about "not touching the ball if it goes into the crowd" speaks volumes.

Stupidity has no bounds.

AFL dancing to the tune of stupidity.

So SA not letting us have any training sessions in Adelaide. If it were the other way round, and port couldn’t train in Melbourne before a final, people would be claiming more conspiracy theories on us getting favoured. What a joke.
Mate, pretty sure our players and officials literally couldn't even leave their own houses in Melbourne in order to appease the SA government in the lead up to playing Port in round 23.

That we can't even have a training run, 14 days after having left Melbourne, when we've already either trained or played in 3 others states, is absurd.

Depends when we were due to fly out. If it was tonight then it wouldn’t really matter… unless we’ve delayed flights because of this earlier in the week?

Yeah and Bevo getting accused of playing the woe is me card. That is crap he is just stating the facts the only problem we brought it on ourselves by not getting the top 4. No use crying over spilt milk now. If we beat Port last game we have the double chance first week we play the cats we most probably win and things are reversed we playing Port in WA with a rest and a fit Keath and Weightman.

Talk about made to sleep on bed of nails. I do not how you and the players get done Bevo but best of luck. Go Dogs

Seeing plenty of posts and photos of excited Melbourne supporters excited, I'm sure Port supporters are the same and Geelong, well they've been there before, but we're in a Prelim, so get excited!

We're down to the last four and we're in with a real live chance. We can do this!

Lockdown gives you plenty of chance to think (too much time) and was thinking back to how exciting Prelims were as a kid. My first one was 1992 (I was 10). I was so excited I could barely sleep. Devastated by the result, but as I watched Terry Wheeler in tears thanking fans, it solidified my love for the club.

Second one in 1997, again super excited, hopeful, expectant. Same again in 1998, but hoping for redemption. By the end of 98, I was shattered but the optimism of youth was still there.

2008 - a new era. New hope, I can remember thinking 'this feels different'. It wasn't. 2009 - heartbroken. That was the night where I thought 'we're never going to make it' and by 2010, I thought we were destined for a lifetime of disappointment.

2016 obviously changed all that.

I don't know what will happen tomorrow, but I don't fear Prelims like I did. It's exciting, we are there with a chance to get in a Grand Final. Can't wait for tomorrow. Bring it on - let's go!

This is music to my ears!

Have you guys been tuning into the 2 guys 1 cup podcast?

They have this theory called “Bevos Bottom Boys” where the harder it is for us and the more we are under dogs the better we perform. I think it will be true again on the weekend.

Our Premier is a mad port fan, and our Chief Health Officer's husband and the Port physio are business partners. Welcome to the pissant town that is Adelaide.
