Yeah, otherwise known as the warmup. Gee thanks SA Gov. Bunch of muppets

Funny how when Adelaide and Port Adelaide came to VIC in R22/23 both us and Melbourne were forced into 48 hour quarantine, yet we were allowed to train.

Regardless of the result we should be asking why this has only come out in the past 24 hours. Surely the AFL should've told us this was a possibility last week.

Perhaps the AFL should have played the game in Perth.

Remember when we were put at a massive disadvantage for the last time around as well?

Up to 20 Western Bulldogs players will stay in a hotel this week as all players and staff endure three Covid tests before Friday’s top-four showdown with Port Adelaide as part of strict rules.
But coach Luke Beveridge, who opted to stay at home, which in turn meant his wife, a nurse, took unpaid leave to fit in with the AFL’s restrictions, said the extra imposition wouldn’t impact his team’s ability to get “pulsing” for the pre-finals clash.

The Bulldogs have suffered back-to-back losses and kicked just five goals against Hawthorn last week.

Beveridge conceded his Bulldogs couldn’t “flick the switch” against Port but would have to be better with a top-two finish a potential reward for victory.

“It’s a bit simplistic to flick a switch,” he said on Wednesday.

“This time of year when other teams are pulsing for whatever carrots are in front of them, we haven’t been pulsing.

“We are just off our best, for numerous reasons. The bright light and the optimistic outlook is we know we are capable of a lot more than what we have been producing.”

The Bulldogs have been required to go the extra yard to meet Covid rules this week ahead of the clash with Port to enable them safe passage back to Adelaide.

Beveridge joked he would need to be “reimbursed” for his wife’s pay from the AFL.

But he said while the peripheral issues were “interesting”, he wouldn’t let them impact performance.

“We have somewhere between 10 and 20 people staying in a hotel for different amounts of time. We had to be tested three times ... so there’s a lot going on,” he said.

“But I don’t think that’s going to matter too much. It won’t affect the way we play.”

Lol look at the Melbourne nuffies in our game thread on the main board

They have had an obsession with us all year

There’s been a clear reason why they’ve chirped up this year. Their team is very good and they don’t want any other side in their way as they see this as their big opportunity. Previous years of them being a rabble, we wouldn’t have heard a word. Short memories sadly.

What a shame not many of them cannot go to the grand final and they won't have a grand final week, parade etc.

It'd be hilarious to dismantle Melbourne in the grand final.
To be fair they looked pretty effin ominous last night. Could Gawn be in trouble for a covid/bubble breach hugging Lyons in the post game interview? I don't wish it on him, and worst case he could still play with a 14 day quarantine, but Lyons wouldn't be part of their team bubble.

Gary Lyon quarantined in a hotel in WA for 14 days.

At the very least they should've enquired about what the visiting team would be able to do and not do. The way it's come out it seems we were just expecting to be able to train today as we had in Launceston and Brisbane.

As much as I can't stand him, to his credit, Scott called out our treatment by the AFL and various governments and health authorities last night. Said it should never ever be allowed to happen again or something like that. SA clearly the worst.

Round 23 was insane being dictated to by another state in your own state, but yesterday was next level. Pathetic the AFL doesn't have the balls to stand up to SA.

They are no longer in a Covid bubble. They are free to come and go as they please.
