wow damning stat, Cherfs turning the ball over on 24% of their drives...
Considering how cute they get sometimes and Tyreek acquiring butter fingers it's hardly surprising.

Their 2nd goal-to-go play of this game included a behind the back flick from Kelce to Mahomes (who was on the move after being lined up out wide) ffs - the very definition of getting cute

The Vikings are a deeply flawed team on offence Because of Kirk Cousins. They use the run to set up the pass and when the run is not working (usually because the DL is good) they have nothing in the pass game. Add to that a trait from Cousins that he won’t go downfield if a receiver is “covered” (even when you have some of the best contested catch wide receivers) and that is what you end up with; abandonment of the running game and a quarterback who won’t throw past the sticks.

Today was the embodiment of everything that has caused the Vikings to be mediocre with Cousins at QB, and Vikings management (GM and HC) have to take the blame. Zimmer hated Keenum because he took too many risks, even though that risk taking caused a 13-3 season. As a result, the GM went with game manager Kirk Cousins and the team has been doomed ever since. Zimmer’s insistence on a conservative game plan paired with Cousin’s inability to take risks has proven to be a recipe for middling play from the Vikings even though they’ve had a top 5 RB and two great WRs (Diggs/Thielen and Jefferson/Thielen) during his tenure at QB.

I don’t blame the OC, because the Vikings have had so many. They’ve all tried to implement schemes to make Cousins successful, but Cousins refuses to take risks, even when behind, and fails almost every time. He’s the classic middle of the road quarterback; 95% of the time time he’ll beat a bad team and 95% of the time he’ll lose to a good team.

I will be so happy when he is gone.

Yeah. Wonder if you guys would give Mond a go. Saw a lot of him in college and he came on pretty well in his last year.

probably wont happen til Zimmer is fired, when blokes are trying to save their jobs they usually stick with the experience.

And that's where the 7 playoff teams makes it interesting, because they're still quite firmly a wildcard chance so Zimmer won't be going anywhere for a while imo.

Depends on ownerships perspective, if youre terrible like the McCaskey's with the Bears who are happy to accept mediocrity year after year all youre doing is stopping the franchise from winning, keeping idiots like Nagy and Pace around who'll never win you anything apart from the occasional shitty token 7th seed playoff appearance.

I dont see the point of limping in a 7th seed with a roster like the Vikings, like Sven said, the whole franchise needs a reboot, that comes down to how hungry ownership is for a championship competing team.

The whole issue of Zimmer and the hot seat is currently being discussed by the Minnesota press. The common thinking is that Zimmer is safe until the Packers game in 3 weeks time, mainly because the Ravens and Chargers games are on the road and the Packers game is back at US Bank. If the Packers embarrass the Vikings in their own building then it should be curtains.

Unless you've got some hotshot young HC candidate that you want to assess, your HC is actively hurting the development of the team or the HC has lost the locker room, there isn't much of a benefit to firing your coach this early in the season imo

you might as well get a look at Mond as early as possible imo, not winning s**t this year with Cousins. Firing Zimmer would allow you to do that.
