Honey is a bit of a myth at the moment. He hasn’t even shown he can be a productive forward pocket let alone a high intensity half forward who can impact through midfield.

He is certainly talented but has a fair way to go if he is to make it. Would love to see him dominate the VFL and force his way in.
Get the feeling that he getting a little stale in the 2's... Hollands and Cowan haven't had to force their way in and also got the bonus of prime time big crowd games straight up.
Honey might just need the same thing.... remembering his go is high impact low possession, high pressure and tackling.

  • Will continue with two rucks
  • Monitoring Walsh after each session, champing at the bit to come back
  • Hollands has been mentored by Acres and LOB
  • Cowan as been mentored by Newman, Doc and Williams
  • Toby Greene - we have a plan for him when he's forward and a plan when he's higher up the ground

Cowans & Hollands got in on the back of good form in the preseason & openings in their respective positions.
Honey is behind a few at present & has flaws to be worked on, opportunity will arise, it's up to him whether he's ready to capitalise on it.

You gotta laugh … I knew Hewitt would be in for another injured player
Death. Taxes. Injured player we find out about at selection.

All this arguing all week of who would be dropped for Hewett. Took no notice of it because there was nothing more certain than someone missing through unjury anyway

It's a good problem to have, not as if he suffered a medium-long term injury or anything, and saves the MC from any awkward dropping a player from our stirring win last week discussion.

Walsh aside, for once we are in a pretty good shape with injuries regarding our best 22 this season for a change (Ollie and Moo are making strong cases in 2 weeks they belong in our starting 22 for most of the rest of the season)

Look I don't want to jinx it, but on field the Baggers have been in our strongest position player availability wise in Jezza knows how long.
