So Essendon beat us by 2 and North by 3. Looking forward to seeing them beat Richmond by 4 in dreamtime. Will ne a genuinely interesting game in being potentially close, especially as they're decimated by injuries, which does suck for them.

Fans have been calling for Jones and Gresham to be dropped for awhile although you never want them being injured.

I went and re-watched it, it was about 31 seconds that they called play on, so the right call.

The weirdest one for sure was when the umpire paid a free kick to North because he thought an Essendon player kicked the ball away. When he found out it was a North player he was like "Ball it up"

AFL finding new ways to screw North?

I went back and checked again, I got 28 seconds from the point McKay let go of him and he was able to walk back to his mark, but the umps were also blowing their whistles and directing players to stay out of the area, so they often don't count that as part of your time because they would then call you back to take your kick again if you DID kick.

All in all, you love to see the umpires finding new ways to insert themselves into a close game of football at the most decisive moments.

It’s getting pretty tiring watching this North team be so unprofessional. I can’t imagine how torturous it must be for their supporters.

That the majority of their senior players can barely function when the pressure is on is a ****ing disgrace. That their coaches cannot or will not make obvious moves when the game is in the balance is negligent.

They are the worst run club in the comp from a footy perspective and it’s not even close - and given this version of WC exists that’s saying something.

The only thing - literally the only thing - stopping a North win in that last quarter, given Essendon’s injuries, was Merrett. But let him do what he wants and save the game for them.
